r u sure? i tip in japanese restaurants..and a lota jap restauratns rn't even own by jap ppl..its liek chiense ppl...so then they wnat tips
It depends. Me and my friend usually go to this one Pho place, and he knows the people who work there. Pretty much he found out that the owner doesn't give the workers the tips and keeps it ALL for himself. So instead of having a $5-6 dollar bowl or Pho, unsuspecting tippers end up actually paying like $10 for a bowl not knowing that the owner takes the tips. Then again it all depends. If people are that cheap, just stay away from them. easy as said.
i think so... coz a fd told me he tried to tip ppl in hotels an restaurants n those ppl were chasing after him to return his tip -huh
I usually give a 10% tips when eating at a restaurant, but at other places like fast food places I would not give tips.
in the uk, the staff dont generally see much of the tip (as far as i know having worked in a crappy place) and if they do its shared amongst the staff... the restuarants also add "granuality" thats tacked onto your bill as 'tip' but they dont tell you and if you dont look you end up tipping twice -- but these are scum cos the staff dont generally see any of this!
Excellent service = 20-25% Good service = 15% Standard service = 10% Bad service = 0 This has worked out well for me; and I never hesitate to ask the restaurants to take off a pre-added tip if I thought the service was bad. Generally if I don't tip, the staff was pretty horrible because I usually have a pretty high tolerance; besides I never go back to the places that I don't tip, so I don't care what they think. When I do tip well, I usually walk up to the server to thank them in person and stuff the money in their pocket so other staff don't steal the tip (which I've seen happen in the past). For those who complain about non tippers, I suggest you take it up with the boss to raise your wages instead; he should be the one paying you at least minimum wage. The customer already paid their part with the price of the meal; a tip is simply that, a tip....ie extra/a bonus to what the customer has already paid. It should not be expected of them. It SHOULD be expected of the restaurant owner to pay their own employees well though.... otherwise, you should quit and find a better boss...
tip at the end yep , you gotta tip man. cuz that is what the servers earn. I tip about 20-30% depend on the type of restuarants.
