Nice picture Crystal84. The night shoot pictures are so nice. I've also tried taking pictures of the moon with my point-and-shoot camera. Just made it blue to look cool. =)
Since people are posting moon pictures.. Old picture but whatever.. Canon SX10IS P&S, 20x optical zoom, I think it was slightly cropped.. No where near as much detail as Crystal though. :/ Another old picture, taken with Nikon D5000 using 55-200m lens.. Meh my photos are no good compared to you guys haha. One of the recent picture at The Butchart Garden.. Taken with Sony NEX-5N 18-55mm lens

Crystal84 I saw your moon shot and I am quite impressed with the factor that you managed to get such a good shot using the 70-200 lens handheld. What are your settings? I assumed that the image is heavily cropped since this should be a 400mm plus picture to get the details. How many stops of advantage did the lens give you? With a full frame you would be using a minimum of 1/200 sec for a lessor lens. Did you use raw?
Ya, that is a nice picture. I can see the craters. I searched on google and I see others that can take pictures of other planets with their camera.
@hometime: Thanks. To answer your questions, here a brief collection of bullet points - yes, fairly cropped - shot with 50D (Crop 1.6x) @ 200mm = 320mm - shot at widest aperture (f4) at 1/80 (IS works superb) - Leaned my arm against wall - ISO 100 - IS of my lens gives an advantage of about 4 stops Exifs can be seen on flickr as well, click on Actions-View Exif
