hmm I do like HP's new macclone notebooks. their specs are so much better for the money... although, one thing that i like about apple is that there are no vents to cover up, meaning you can use it on carpet or in a bed with no issues, which is a huge selling point for me.
so in regards to my dilemma, i've narrowed it down further....... as much as i like the envy, it's no longer an option... minimum starts at 2k CAD for a basic 13 inch Core 2 configuration... the same spec'd macbook pro would run me 1.2k + free ipod however, a 15 inch lenovo ideapad with an i5 configuration, twice the HDD space, x4 better graphics card, would run me about 1k with my IBM discount, where as a lesser config'd 15 inch i5 macbook would run me 1.8k..... the winner is clearly the lenovo ideapad y560........ but it's a fucking lenovo........................ MAN WTF
I'd say get the macbook still... It just seems more versatile than any regular windows laptop would be. There is some undefinable element to the macbook which makes it better than any other laptop. Can't really describe it, but if you buy one, you won't regret it.
