I don't follow recipes, I try to replicate the taste and look from a restaurant and I don't present non-edible/non-presentable food; anything that doesn't meet my own expection will consider as gargabe and get dumped. During a speical occasion party (ie. x-mas) I serve my own food. I will not eat out the same food that I am capable of making them myself =) Left: Steamed Lobster Right: Clam Miso Soup Left: Chestnut Crisp Right: Green Tea Cake Left: Roast Chicken Dinner Right: Japanese Pumpkin Tempura & Deep Fried Bacon Prawn
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm green tea cake! I would love to try that... most of that looks yummy even though i don't eat most of it @Master_G Why America?
Ooohh I'm likey some of these!! I know you said u don't follow recipes.. but anyway to write a simple little recipe for some of these coz i really like the chestnut crisp, green tea cake and the roast chicken itself
made a choco cake for a work colleague.. double layer lol with lindt choco as 'decoration' i kinda rushed when i was icing the name....lol XD but at least it looks nice
Mmmmmmm that looks so good May! You gonna make me one for my birthday? Haha actually i'm not a big cake fan but that still looks good, choco cake is always the winner yum yum
chestnut crisp ...very time consuming...you can basically replace the chestnut paste with ANYTHING in the form of paste, make your own lotus seed crisp =) i have used the chestnut (whole, raw), bake them until they crack themselves inside the oven ( you can buy the chestnut paste from a shop, but i like making everything on my own ) crack them, peel the outer shell & skin, in a bowl flatten them with a spoon, add some milk, butter, sugar into a blender to make into a paste ( i will later try using whipping cream, butter, and sugar ) follow instructions as per the package of fillo gives you ( brush oil/butter in between fillo sheets ) i used 3-sheets before applying the chestnut paste in apply the paste onto fillo and roll and bake until golden brown at the top, about 20 mins green tea cake... you can use any plain cake recipes and just add match powder into the cake mix to make it green...you must use the baking matcha powder, mine was $20 for 1 lb...add more to taste...
OMG may where's the one that i have requested hey??? nice nice i will deffo try out the chestnut crisp recipe when im back in uni when i have the whole kitchen and oven to myself -rockon
Time for a resurrection! :laugh2: Thought I'd make this liven back up by posting what I made for dinner tonight :wiggle: Everything together <3 my fluffy rice.. But the broccolli was overcooked as usual Chicken drumsticks and thighs.. garlic/chilli/onions/corriander My "char siu" plated up "Char siu" freshly out from oven Steamed egg cooked in rice seems like I don't have anything to support it in the wok =/ + my attempt of the "char siu" went better than I thought although personally I think there's a little bit too much hoi sin sauce been put on it for marinade >.< But then I feel soo fat, I have eatten so much and still pork and chicken leftover.. It was a meal for 2 after all
