Often times its a last resort. It is easy for us outsiders looking in to judge someone's choices. In third world countries such as Thailand, prostitutes are respected because they are able to provide for their family. Like Ecko said its all about the need to survive. It is almost impossible to look for a better job because there arent any. This is a risky business because over 50 % of prostitutes in Thailand are infected with AIDS, yet foreign businessmen from all over are willing to venture there for a night of pleasure.

  2. yup... and it ain't as bad as parents sellin' their children into like sex slaves....

Everyday... we hustlin'... everyday we hustlin'...

  3. Here's my lil remix to the struggle...

You see Carey around the corner cuz she workin'...
gotta sell her body just to feed her children...
You see the customers pullin' up in them Benzs..
But her children be asking... Mommy where you get them bruises...
She hustle hard just to get that money...
gotta be careful so she don't catch no disease...
trying to find another way.. but it's not that easy...
Scared that STD might take her life...
her children crying for a hundred nites...

Everyday she hustlin'... Everday she hustlin'... Everday she hustlin'...

Hustle real hard.. Hustle, Hustle real hard..

Wow Peachey - that is very pc of you -clapclap Very nicely put... couldn't have said it any better myself.

Prostitution is actually an occupation in some countries (legal). However, most western democracies rule it as illegal. I wouldn't have sex with someone for money if my life depended on it.

It's so degrading and demeaning. Girls who resort to this type of job are only promoting other girls to do the same. It's like saying it's okay for men to not respect us. Prostitution is just a fast and easy way to make money. Cleaning toilets is better than prostitution.

As for the guys who say it's in the past ect. - yeah, easier said than done. No matter how understanding of a person you are, can you really date/marry a girl and never be bothered by the fact that she was once a prostitute who made a living by pleasuring numerous men? Can you honestly say that you will never hold it against her? It will never work out, because you will feel jealous knowing she has slept with different men everyday.

You won't be able to relate to them, and the jealousy and frustration is already enough to drive any sane man to the pacific ocean.

  5. Well working at a fast food joint is better than cleaning toilets... but the fact of the matter is... she needed taht quick cash... she couldn't just let her children starve to however many days till she gets paid... And prostitution is nothing to be jealousy about. All the girls wants guys to respect them for who they are and what they've been thru. but when it comes to prostitution... they feel that guys won't respect them?? If a guy cares about how many times a girl has had sex with someone else... then even it's not prostitution... they would still hold it against them...

Having sex willingly and prostitution are two completely different things. As a prostitute, you're forced to please certain men, no matter who they are. If a girl has had sex in prior relationships with guys of whom she had genuine feelings for, then it is not degrading.

If you really wanted to sell your body for money, no one can stop you cept the cops. =/

  8. yea so wouldn't you be actually jealous if she had feelings for them.. vs. her being forced to prostitution so she can feed her children... Plus you dunno what kinda previous boyfriends she's had... so it's just as bad... either way they're strangers to you. And you why they split up in the first place?? maybe he was a jerk so it's just a degrading. At least prostitution is all business no feelings involved...

I firmly believe that there are other methods of supporting an entire family without exposure of the body. And if her family actually felt good using that type of money, then I don't know what to say.

Surely, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I'm not trying to impose my own moralities on anyone else.

But on a general overview since we do not comprehend her cousin's friend's specific circumstances at that time, not every poor decent looking girl who was stuck in those desperate measures resorted to that type of business. So, that should tell you something.

  10. So does that give them the right to look down upon those who were not fortunate enough to find another way... Everyone's got a different struggle...

One of the oldest professions in the world.

No training needed - For him or her!

If you need money to survive and feed your kids then maybe agree with the line of work, but if your a crack head, then dont agree with it.

I never said that we should look down on them... all I was trying to imply was that it's the fault of those who have no jobs, because they aren't searching EVERY possible way of finding a job. They may say that they’re looking but they may not be trying hard enough. So people have other options besides prostitution, dealing drugs, or any other wrong way of getting money. Money isn't a descent enough excuse for prostitution, because there are other alternatives, as other women in desperate need for money have already proven. So if it's okay for women in desperate need of money to become prostitutes, then should it be okay for men in desperate need of money to deal drugs also? You see where I'm driving at here?

Most girls/women in prostitution do not sit down and make a rational choice to enter prostitution. So called "survival strategies" are more likely a result of some rather rash decision making. I feel that those who submit to this act inadvertently victimize all women on their behalf. It just further supports the assumption that women are not able to make intelligent decisions relating to the control of their bodies.

Oh, and "breakersrevenge"... the personal attack really was not neccesary nor appreciated. While I know discourse is expected and good, you have no right to label any person who does not share the same ideas/beliefs as you a "crack head". So what if it's one of the oldest professions in the world? Does that mean we should just sit back and let it continue even though some of us feel it may be wrong?

All I'm trying to point out is that our perception of "prostitution" varies from one person to another. We cannot dictate how everyone feels about this… so, I really don’t see why we need to further argue over such matter and insult one another.

BTW, I think this would have been more suitably posted in the Philosphy & Religion forum.

hmph..interesting turn this is taken...ok..lets see here peachy...now..there are alternatives..no doubt about that..but it may not always be accessible...and i do argree..some decisions made are most likely rash ones..but not all...i also see ur point on those who submit to it...victimize other women in some ways...however..i dont see where u are going when u say, "It just further supports the assumption that women are not able to make intelligent decisions relating to the control of their bodies"..i find this statement interesting...as u are a female urself...now...as stated before..there are other alternative...but not all of these women can see it nor some of them may not be strong enough to take it...when ur out there and ur in a tight situation..i doubt u''ll have the time to think things our rationally...its a whole diferent life on the streets...different rules play out there..however..each situation is different...

    i know..but that is quite an assumption..dont u think?

  17. Well shit why don't you start up a Save A Hoe Foundation.... I not saying your looking down upon them. But by saying "not every poor decent looking girl who was stuck in those desperate measures resorted to that type of business." you're implying that they're some how better because they didn't go into that line of work..

that's like saying....Oh well I don't have to take off my clothes to make money... so I'm Better than them...

But of course there are people who are like.. Oh well I don't have to do manual labor to make money... so I'm Better than them....

If you're trying to empower other woman and say that they don't need to result to degrading jobs... why stop at prostitution...??? what about all those females who are scrubbing toilets... why not encourage them to find better work like McDonalds... and for those working at McDonalds... why not encourage them to work in an Office???

And it's not like prostitutes are Proud of what they do... I highly doubt they're out there encouraging other girls to go into that kinda line of work... SO HOW exactly are they victimizing all women????

Once again they do what they have to do.... when you're desperate enough you'll do anything... it's call SURVIVAL!!! who's really gonna sit there and go... let see what kinda job can I look for... If she was sitting there thinking about making moves... Her kids prolly woulda starved to death before she could actually make the move...

breakersrevenge was not calling other people crack head... he was saying that the females shouldn't go into prostitution for crack...
