I have ear bud type earphones, but I only use them because of the bass they provide, and the volume is enough so i can hear properly. I have a friend who listens to his ipod (although with open earphones) super loud. You can hear his music from across a room or even on a loud bus... His hearing is gonna be f*cked by the time hes 20 but he dont care...

 

it gets irritating wearing any kinda headphones for a long time... lot better when ya bumpin the music through some speakers....
