1.5 x 10 is still 15.0 according to my calculations. @b-lee, can you change the settings per user ? I would prefer 3mbps per thread and max of 5 threads.
Unfortunately the script we use doesn't allow us to do that, if we change it, it will be changed for everyone. I think the way we have it right now is best fit for use with download managers since you can make multiple connections per file getting maximum speed. With only 5 download threads you will be constrained to how many files you can download at the same time.
Initially I was not too eager to install a download manager on my PC, but you are right. I just decided to try out DownThemAll! for Firefox and managed to reach my max download speed on 1 file.
we're not public, we have a very small userbase, sweden domain, european based servers, zero western content, so the chances are very very low...
Because of Easter holidays our server was slowed down in the setup process, I'm still waiting for the datacenter to give me the server. x_x
Server is now ready. Sending out info to members on the waiting list.. might take a bit of time but everyone should get info by today. Thanks again for your support!
b-lee, i'm having problems donating... the paypal comes back with an error: We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. Can you take a look and let me know when it's fixed so that I can donate many thanks
I'm not trying to kill this great project or anything; but, just wondering what are your opinions with regards to Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, or ACTA? As far as I understand it, it's similar to SOPA / PIPA and Switzerland is one of the countries involved. Maybe I'm mistaken, but pserve is in Switzerland, correct? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agreement
only the domain name is in switzerland, our servers are in NL. However, if NL does sign ACTA, I don't think it would be a big problem either.. our traffic and userbase is so small it's not even on the map..but if I believe it's neccessary we can move the servers elsewhere.
I just donated for a year and i must say after the M*** fiasco I am so glad I was able to get into Pserve. It's nice to actually avoid all the captcha's on the other fileserver host sites and the horrendous speeds they give you. I can grab multiple files and download at my full pipe if needed. It is so worth it! Thanks again B-Lee!
Thanks Kimi! I just have one thing to add, the majority of members who donated have been getting excellent speeds. However, there are 2 members who reside in New Zealand/Vancouver who aren't getting their max download speeds and require the use of download managers like IDM (I highly recommend). If you're interested in donating and you live in these areas I suggest you ask for a test file first to see how the speeds are like for you.
