I live in New York City so public tranportation is big here because new york city is so big and packed that you can't drive in a car because there's always traffic, and the trains/buses are the fastest way to get there. Sometimes public transportation can be a problem because they are increasing the prices now and they're pretty high ($2 usd per ride), but not much you can do without it because like almost everyone uses the public transportation whether to get to school/work/etc.
That's why they have passes =_=b TTC cost 2.75 per ride if you pay cash now, that's MORE than 2USD. Plus, it's uber-crappy transit system :| Plus, I am ALWAYS amazed as to the NY buses can be on schedule in all that congestion!
