My dad tries to fix everything before getting help, because he actually knows what he's doing. I find it pretty amazing, cause he taught himself most of the stuff. Things like electrical, piping, metal work, wood work, computers and other things which he just somehow knows.... I wish I was as well rounded as him I've learned a lot from him and I guess he's one of the major reasons I'm going into engineering next year.
yep, my dad too, think they feel like its their responsibility to fix everything, but they can be sooo stubbon sometimes esp. wen you now yrself how to do it and quicker!!
LOLS! just the other day .. my uncle's car broke down so he was like "yeah i can fix this easily" then wen he was fixing it he had to cut a wire and instead of getting the wire scissors thingy.. he decided to BITE IT! >.<!! omggg! it electricfied all his teeth off! and then he had to go dentists... and then call the mechanic >.<!!!! LOLSSS!
my dad knows that his genes are nothing compared to that of my mom's, so he doesn't argue with me when i tell him to let me take over... plus, can't expect baby-boomers to be tech-savvy..
Ahaha, I don't know where that "Chinese dads think they can fix everything" came from.. but I know that my friend's father tries to fix everything.. not because he thinks he knows but because they'll save those extra dollars instead of calling someone. xD; (It's funny, he tried to redo his patio by himself so that he could sell their house for a little more.. but it looks like something an infant constructed. xD And on top of that, they have to fix it because its about to collapse from the good 'ol Canadian weather.) My family has already established that my father is useless at fixing things, so.. thats why we have neighbours... they come over and help us. xD;
my dad aint like that... if he knows how to do something then he does it, if he doesn't then he tries to do it...
Nope I don't think so. Depending on what, I like fixing things XD Last week, I kinda.. broke the clothes rack (the white one in plastic?) It was already pretty weak. But while trying to twist it, I broke one of the "arm" kinda thing. Used 2 pen + ducktape, and now, it's stronger than 2 years after we bought it. Been using it for the past 6-7 years >_>
it's not just your dads every one it's more like males in general liek to fix things. it's a assertive thing where fixing things makes people seem more important
lol tell ur dad to watch this when he tries to fix something, then he'll prob stop fixing it Idiots Guide to Fxing Life
thats funny because if he really can fix thigns then i'm going to assume your dad is a construction worker of some sort cause they have a tendency to be able to do the fixing
Its a quality a chinese father should have. I am doing my best to try and qualify as such a man b4 my child pops out !
My dad can fix anything from TV to fridge! although most of the time it goes wrong ^_^' he know's how to do most DIY as well, but he does ask me to read instructions to him my friend who is indian has a dad that likes to fix things as well and takes everything apart XD he even got his NDS taken away from him and it got taken apart haha so it's not just chinese dads!
thing is that my dad tries fixing everything to save money which i think is a good thing BUT some things that has absolutely no clue how to fix, he'll try to fix it except that it makes it even worse =/ but you cant say just chinese dads in general
