^ And because it's not as visible as in the past, it has got even more difficult to eradicate it... How sad.
If I ever go to the States I will make sure I'll never set a foot in the deep South; what a scary part if you're not white! All those racism stories I've read/heard are really that bad and it still exist as of today.
lol reminds me of that one Top Gear episode where the hosts drove a bunch of broken ass cars trying to provoke the southerners. hahaha i particularly liked the car with 'Nascar Sucks' written on it; that really got the locals goin. The people who live down there are just an angry folk all around.
Saw that too and that was the most recent thing I've seen about the rednecks which reminded me of all those stories I've heard in the past. Wow, they broadcast TopGear in Canada too? It was indeed hilarious, like the roadkill part with the bull on top of the car.
no they dont broadcast it as far as i know.. I download the episodes, i am a hardcore Top Gear junkie. nothin like a bunch of british dudes farting around with hundred thousand dollar cars.
ever hear the song "everyone's a little bit racist" - Avenue Q? pretty much says it right there as for the extream racists - they live in their little bubble world...it's wrong but its happening
^ Well, we are quite delusional as a species of homo sepians. We think justice is served, racism is eradicated (total BS), gender equality etc etc, and yeah God bless America or so Mr. President says. Now isn't THAT delusional.
Even with recent events (Virginia Tech), racism is running amok. Even the TV news stations first said "A Chinese National....". Now a lot of people are hatin' on Asians. Also have you noticed majority of the politicians are from the deep South? That's why there's really no gun control in America. Most of the politicians are members of the National Rifle Association.
^ And the area where Civil Right Movement DIDN'T start at... They've got that 100-years so-called traditional American lifestyle to PROTECT. May as well get them black slaves as bribery, they would LOVE it.
There is, and most are unwilling to admit it... and that's why it's so difficult to eradicate the problem. Again with the in-group vs. out-group thing.
Here's a particular situation that just happened to me and my friends recently on the street: We were walking down the sidewalk when a few guys (African Americans to be politically correct) started saying "One Dolla! One Dolla!" In NYC, the Chinese street vendors would yell that out. So, we guess they were mocking us. So my friend turned to them and said "Thanks for the racist remark." The funniest reply they said was "We ain't racist! We're black!" Errrrr....ok. Then my friend unzipped his jacket to show a shirt he was wearing....a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. My friend "Thank you for not keeping this man's dream alive. He fought so hard against racism and now his dream is dead. Thanks again. Good bye" So they were left speechless.
hey.. thats pretty smart remark from your fren.. and to think he was wearing that.. wait a minute.. he rehearsed that b4 rite?
^ Or that friend hoped to do that for a long time and those guys just happen to do the "wrong" thing at the "wrong" time.
