Yeah I've noticed a change in the Jasmine rice some time ago. Not unless everyone spends time to examine the taste/texture/smell like a food critic. Most people will not notice a difference while eating and maybe also it's too late to notice when they already get used to the rice.
i havnt noticed anything with my rice... cuz im always too hungry so i gulp down my food..but i do notice its qute mushy even if u put less water than u r suppose to... weirdxD... or mayb its just mexD'
Rice Rice comes from many different countries and will taste differently. If you had the same brand all the time then the taste difference is probably dues to the rice being either new or old. Rice that requires much more water means it is old rice and the taste is usually less fragrant. Cheaper rice probably comes from older stock. What happens with the world's grain storage is that each country keeps a stockpile of grains. The older stock is released as new grain is added to the store. More expensive rice comes straight from the fresh stock.
rice is rice to me. i don't notice it. i only eat white rice once a week so when i do eat it, it's so DAMN good.
I havent notice any changes from the rice i eat either, but it is getting so expensive, it just not right.
The smell of cooking rice is less intensive than it used to. Maybe where I live nowadays is not as humid as back then and our kitchen is a lot bigger now. The taste is also not as good. I believe the rice are being kept a lot longer on stock then they used to. The price has gone up since the fuel cost was up. Now that the fuel cost is down, the rice price is still rather high!! Wonder who is the bad guy...
I notice the price changed!! Maybe cos the way of cooking(dif. kind of pan) it,thats why the taste n the flavour is different.!!!
the rice tastes the same to me, i don't really notice any difference besides the way you cook the rice.
you are probably buying no name brand that's why. I heard the no name brand are genetically grown that's why it cheap.
I have noticed something... When I went to buy rice yesterday, I realized that the price is exactly double of what it was 10 years ago, but since the price went up slowly, no one really noticed that much of a difference, as they normally go up at small increments.
