Wow, there's a thread of Roger Federer. I'm so happy-blush2

His tennis is amazing. It's so fluid and beautiful to watch. I wish he can win the French Open soon because, sadly, he doesn't have many year left. He's beginning to show decline in his reign and people like Nalbandian are starting to figure how to beat him.

Really? I don't find him cocky at all. I find him down to earth and very classy.

OMG!!!! I just saw this cute chinese baby hold up Nadal's poster on ESPN-lol

Anyways, this sucks, Roger lost to Gonzalez for the first time. I couldn't believe it especially when Roger was 10-0 against him.

Well...Gonzo did play a good macth, he had some brilliant shots and outshined Federer. Honestly, I think Federer was below his standard compare to previous matches. He really needs to put some authority in his game and kick up his level a couple of notches or else he won't compete agains playerst like Ferrer. Ferrer looks wicked hot and his tenacity level is high as always. Roger is going to have trouble against fast players like him, who play every point like his life counted on it, unless his forehand find its range.

Federer has done it again.. HIs 4th Master's Cup consecutive title, Completely hammered Ferrer, who isn't an easy player to beat--Ferrer is in blistering form right now, best I've seen him play.

^^ I dunno, Nadal is still king of Clay, but Federer seems to be slowly improving on clay.

He will be the all time best tennis player ever. He is just too good. Roger Federer is just AWESOME!!! Its so funny watching Nadal play Federer. You can tell he is soooooo annoyed when he just cant break through Fereder's awesome play. Even when he is winning on points, Federer just comes back in a few sets. Havent seen many tennis players that can keep their cool and improve their play after each game. Norally u can see their face turn serious and start shouting, smacking their racket etc, but Federer just keeps his cool. Seriously dont know if someone can be better at playing tennis than Roger Federer.

Its true that Sampras and Federer will be facing off right?? It'd be an interesting game to watch, but Federer will proibarly come out on top due to Sampras's older age and the fact that he's retired and hasn't played much tennis lately

No, that can be true! Roger Federer wouldn't only win the match but also kick Sampras ass. Compare it to Björn Borg and his son Robin (I think he's called), they faced off in Sweden a year ago or something. The result was that the son wun. Of course he wun, he's young and he can play a higher level of tennis because his body can handle it.

With other words; I don't think there will be such a Federer-Sampras match. In my mind Sampras against Agassi sound better. :) The only thing Sampras and Federer will be facing off in would be like who will win/has wun the most Grand Slams.

Growing up in the late 80s and most part of the 90s, I have to say I watched tennis when it was at its prime as a sport. I'm one of those who believes there's simply too much power in todays game. The game lacks finesse and technique.

In case you haven't seen the Sampras Vs Federer match in Korea, you can get the 2 sets here:
    First Set
    Second Set

Sampras's serve is still there and his 2nd serve is insane... . Something perhaps to do that he's using a nCode 6.1 90".

Personally I like Federer. He's probably the only player on the tour now I suspect who could have kept up with those players I grew up with. My first contact with Tennis was watching the Edberg Vs Becker trilogy at Wimbledon beginning in 1988. I picked up the game soon after. Both of them had very good serve and volley games. At the time, tennis was blessed with the earlier artisans like Noah & Leconte. The older generation still like McEnroe and Lendl were just leaving the scene and new boys like Stich, Sampras, Courier, Chang and Aggasi were arriving.

Despite my admiration for Federer, I can't help but feel he's still a big fish in a small bowl (competition is too easy for him) and until someone else steps up, we're not really going to see how good he really is.

It's his 4th Master Cup but not consecutive. Nalbandian beaten him in the 2005 finals. I was really hoping Nalbandian could have made it. I would love to see the sweet revenge of Federer.

There were a couple of people who could give Federer a run for his money:

    1) David Nalbandian : Beat Federer twice this year.
    2) Andy Roddick : A Serve and forehand to trouble Federer but sadly inconsistent and terrible at the net. His Backhand is the worst of any top touring pro.
    3) Marat Safin : Started with so much potential but never quite lived up to it.

Now Nadal needs to step up and Djokovic needs to stop kidding around and play real tennis.

If you're comparing to James Blake , it's obvious. Fed's way better... .

Off the tennis court, Federer is a really nice person too! I went to see him play a couple of years ago in Toronto (York U), and after his warm-up, he stood at the gate and signed autographs for 10 minutes! Too bad it's not worth anything :(

Roger Federer was in Malaysia yesterday on 23.11.2007 for the Clash of Times Tournament. He won the tournament after beating Sampras. Great work Roger.

Federer is good, but it's sad to see that no one can stand up to him, it is kinda of boring to watch sometimes. No one is really showing signs that they have a chance against him... im interested to see how Federer responds in tough situations.
