There are always scary stories that come out of Shenzhen. When I went to HK and was going on a one-day trip to Shenzhen, we were warned by friends to hold our purses/bags close to us or people will snatch it. Also, to watch out for people who would bump into you and poke you with an infected needle.
hmmz.. scary. i heard of another story some guy goes to a club in china and picks up a girl then went back to the hotel together. The guy drank something and fell asleep and when he woke up he was in the bathtub with ice and he was missing a kidney.
always need to be careful when travelling. i almost got mugged before but i spotted the guy before he did anything. but he was eying where my wallet was and i just stared back at him. my heart was like beating so fast... scary. he had a really dodgy look about him.
sounds kinda scary...... but i think if i had to use a toilet i guess i would find one with more Public....
I'm not surprised they use such ways to farm organs for cash. They also got those crazy folks that steal purses on a motorcycle friggin' amazing.
ah what a crazy world we live in.. heard many of these stories.. some could be real, fake or just highly exaggeratted.. im currently in China now for exchange and its been alright.. everyone i know is still alive and has their organs intact i guess we just have to be cautious and careful whenever you go out.. never go out at night by yourself.. dun take strangers drinks and keep an eye on your own drinks.. stuff your parents would warn u about when going out~ in China... there are some dodgy people who does anything for money... but then.. same scenario happens in other corrupt cities around the world... so bottom line is just be careful and smart when travelling and going out~
Its a urban legend, I'm sure people have pointed it out within these 70 or so post that there are similar stories. One involving a Farang in Thailand or something like that who went to a bar, met some students, got drugged, and found himself in a bathtub filled with ice, and something written in his body that tells him to call emergency or else he'll die. From reading that story, I'm just wondering if the victim was small in stature (spelling), because a fish barrel... is that enough to stuff a man in? unless he was like really small, I don't think you can stuff anyone without either taking him apart or dislocating all his joints. Doubt anyone can do that within a few minutes and still leave the place as if nothing happened. Sorry I'm just over-analyising today...
jeez, im going to china next month and i've just read all this horrible stuff. talk about giving me the heebie jeebies
You just cannot be too careful when you travel abroad regardless where you are, there will always be desparate people doing desparate things...
Just google the terms Kidnapping with Body Organs and you'll be schooled. I really doubt it's as simple as urban legend. Remember that China is a place where street gangs kidnap and purposely maim (ie. chop off) the hands and feet of children to use as sympathy beggars (Egypt too BTW). After the fall of the Iron Curtain, eastern Europe is rife with stories of young people and kids being kidnapped or scammed away, then murdered for the lucrative trage in body parts. I know someone who lived in ShenZhen until a few years ago (now in New York) who refuses to take her kids to China, esp ShenZhen, specifically because it is, as she stated "...too dangerous." The story of the tourist waking up in a tub packed with ice, with the warning to see a doctor right away is probably fake. Based on criminal nature, it makes zero sense. If kidnappers were so bold as to remove one kidney, they're already up for some very serious charges. And sure, LOL... like they care enough about the guy to leave a note? Be realistic; there would be no sense in not taking the rest of the valuable organs (the other kidney, liver, eyes, heart) and then simply dumping the body. It would make more money and eliminate the only potential witness. My final analysis? Story of tub of ice and stolen kidney is most likely urban legend, loosely based on the real and frightening criminal activity facts of robbery harvesting of human organs.
Selling organs have been in the black market long time ago... One thing is that the incident once make it public it will spread out. I have been in china many times and i have use the public toilet. Nothing has happen to me. I think that everything depend on where u go and what u wear. Like every part of the worlds things happen. The only different is that the news will spread out this fast or this serious? does the population pay this much attention? it depends.
i went on a trip there a few weeks ago and nothing happened to me. so i think this is just old stories that happened a while back.
Like, da-uh... the guy that would have reported here in, of something that had happened to him, can't; he's dead in blue box somewhere (presumably without internet access). So, according to your methodology, we can prove that no crimes are taking place just by the determination of the existence of non-victims? Hmmm... that's a powerful new theory; hard science at its finest... LOL... No offense but seriously think for moment; just because nothing happened to you does not mean that it won't happen, or can't happen to someone else. Maybe the criminals were out eating lunch at the time you went to the restroom, or perhaps there were too many people around, or perhaps the traffic was bad that day interrupting their potential getaway, or perhaps they did check you out and for some reason, didn't think that your organs would fetch a good price, or perhaps you would have been too hard to process (maybe you're too fat and would have been hard to cut up); or a myriad of other reasons why it didn't happen to you. So just because it didn't happen to you, that becomes the premise that it was something that could have only occurred long ago? Rather a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
