I think that solid state hard drive is way more better, it's a lot faster, produce less heat and les energy consumtion. But it's still expensive. I have a 60g kingston and it cost me over 200$. but my computer speed double.
ur gonna filled that baby up real fast, my OS hard drive plus application is taking about 30GB already
Noasian - Very true, the warranties is better on WD black, didn't take that in account. madearcher - Problem with SSD is that performance are different between models and tech is just to early and not mainstream, wouldn't mind getting one once the prices come down though.
Well, just buy more drives and backup the important data. Whether it is Seagate, WD, Hitachi/IBM or Samsung, they all can fail. The Seagate 7200.11 generation of course if infamous for failing, but I would not rule out Seagate yet as they will improve in the next generation. I remember just 3~4 yrs ago, the WD drives on my company's Dell computers were failing left and right, and at that time most people considered Seagate more reliable than WD for certain.
