you're wrong .. some online brokerage or bank has no local branch .. that's why they're cheap or with high interest rate. back to security .. i read applications for my alma mater year round for scholarship and admission which are sent to my email with all the students info. beside my own info but these students' personal info are also at risk .. noasian .. you're luck cuz identity fraud has not hit you yet but not everyone is that lucky you know .. so yeah, i personally pick security over convenience now. just not worth it .. time and risk .. lol.
Yes, as the other person has said, many people don't live in cities. I live in the US and the local branch is usually some driving distance away. I thought we were talking about spyware & trojan that can steal password/login and allow people to steal money from your account via different means. Not a problem? This kind of frauds amount to very large loss each year and is the major obstable for introducing online banking and other online service to more people as many are scared to death on that (some of my friends fall into that category and will never use online banking) since they are not very computer literate and is not that good in applying software to protect their pc's. For the latest fraud, just search for "clampi" and you will see.
