Well, technically it should be ban, since just much ingredient inside is actually ban worldwide. However, it has coming such a economic factor and it's started like many many years ago. Therefore, which will nearly be impossible to ban cigars.

I think smokers should only be allowed to smoke on their own home or friends house in a designated area. No more public smoking and that second hand smoking bs.

And interesting fact, when hitler was in power he banned smoking in many public places and he banned pregnant woman from smoking cause according to him it would pollute the generations to come nd he also trippled ciggy taxes, banned officers and government officials from smoking, and soldiers that smoked recieved less food as opposed to non-smoking soldiers that reacieved plenty. Not suprising though is the dramatic increase in smoking in the time of hitlers reign.

I am not that particular whether smoking should be banned or not. The most important factor is that the smokers didnt come and get in my way like smoking in public areas for eg; lifts, restaurants and so on. If they want, they can smoke in the designated areas for smokers.

  9. did they ban outdoor or indoor places??

In the UK, new legislation had been passed last year banning smoking in public places. Next year, another piece of legislation will come into force banning smoking in offices and any other type of associations with the company. For example, smoking will not be permitted in company cars and vans.

Whether it is right for governments to do so is a debatable subject as there was no referendum for the people to decide. Yes, its a healthy consideration yet at the sametime, it affects one freedom to smoke or not to do so.

I suppose the debate will go on as long as there are smokers around. It has however, driven the tobacco companies to focus on developing nations like China and other Asian countries to drive their profits on.

you're crazy if you think america will ban smoking. the government don't have control in this. the private corporations will not let this happen. smoking is something you just have to deal with in life.

Truth is, smoking will never be universally banned. There are too many monied interests on Wall Street to allow that to happen. Government? They ensure their cut of the profits from tobacco taxes (so there's no doubt in my mind which side they're on) above all else.

The only way to decrease the number of smokers is not to increase cost; but to marginalize profits. If tobacco sellers didn't make any profit from it, or very little for all the trouble that they had to go through, they would stop selling.

That is so true...it can't ever be banned since so many people are so hooked onto it...and instead of having the whole world having a high death rate they would might as well just keep the ban of smoking off.

i think they should ban alcohol instead. ppl do crazy things when they are drunk. to be alcohol is closer to hallucigenic drunks then cigarettes. so therefore ban alcohol first.
