    Oh Please...

I'm surprised that people can actually reminisce about Counterstrike, Starcraft, and Diablo. Those would hardly qualify as a game, IMHO. Sure, they're engrossing and entertaining; but they're hopelessly shallow. Their only redemption perhaps being the ambiance and eye candy art of their game worlds. IMHO, efforts like the fantasies envisioned by Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Prince of Qin, and Neverwinter Nights were spectacular historic examples of really imaginative gaming. Also, for 360 degree mayhem, the mechanics of Descent was unparalleled. These are games worthy of nostalgic remembrance and commercial resurrection. Instead the game worlds of today all seem to be inhabited by either clone progeny of first person shooters (remember Doom?), or formulaic click fests. The really good game that required more than two neurons to rub together just aren't suitable (ie dumb enough) for this current two dimensional thought market. :ugh:

    Geezer Games, well alright :punk:

  8. lol I gotta say, Doom was one of the best though. Violence, shooter, crazy ass weapons, and bunch of hidden doors.

Duke Nukem is right up there tho.. N Warcraft 2!! that shit paved the way.. Warcraft 2 was bananza.. Tomb Raider.. hidding the chef in the walk-in, shooting tigers..

damn we talking about some real old school gaming.

I had no idea you mentioned 'Descent was unparalleled' The shooter? way before star fox. Damn.. I was on Descent for awhile.

Counter-Strike is still alive and kicking on Steam.
Diablo 3 is coming out in the next 1-2 years.
StarCraft 2's potential hasn't even been cracked yet. It's so alive.
