^ you know googling is always quick BUT sometimes, the best stuffs come from first hand .. lol secret ingredient or cooking method that can enhance the flavor or whatever .. cooking certain way make it taste a lot better ..
correct me if im wrong but i do not think people should be making this stuff at home cause it stinks up the place and every time i see it on sale are at outside food festivals where they cook it..and if you cook it outisde ur neighbours will def complain...but ya im like scard to eat this stuff and every time i go to the festivals i get sick when im near the smell which is everywhere
its been said that in china, there was competition on the "stinkiest" tofu, and yes there has been reported cases of tofu being "prepared" with feces. but that doesnt mean ALL are made that way....
Don't even try to make it at home, it'll stink up the entire home. Kay, I think the Taiwanese restaurants in Flushing Queens sell stinky tofu. It's quite popular cause last time I went to one place, the table next to us were eating it and one of my friends couldn't stand the smell...lol
i know .. that's the purpose .. i hate my damn neighbor .. i really hope to drive them out of the neighborhood with the stinky tofu .. lol
Ohh, that reminds me, Halloween is coming up, instead of egging someone house, stinky tofu it. Haha, just kidding, don't do it!!!
I never had stinky Tofu in my life, and I was born in Hong Kong. I have to remember to try it when I get back there for vacation. I also miss the street vendor's big red sausages and sil mite.-drool
haha i agree with your wife !! last time i went hk all i could smell was stinky tofu, i'd purposely go around the block just to get away from the smell :( would never want to try it
I do like stinky tufu, it smells bad, but it tastes pretty good, and I think the one in Hong Kong is better than the one in the US.
I don't like stinky tufu, it smell so bad that you can smell it a mile away. I don't understand how you can eat it,
yup .. the us version doesn't smell that bad .. lol you don't wanna ordered and have the other customers complaint about the smell in the restaurant .. lol of course, you don't want others to stare at you whilst eating .. ppl sure will think you're putting shit in your mouth .. lol
I really want to try it! reading on wikipedia it gets fermented and sometimes there are maggots on them! anyone know a good place where it is safe to eat?
