apparently creative zen sold their products to apple but since they started making their own brand they stopped selling product ideas to apple hence the crappy new ipods. But cant wait for the new IPhone

Pirate Bay Launches Uncensored Image Hosting

"The guys over at the Pirate Bay have launched a new, censorship-free image hosting website called BayImg. Users of the new service don't have to sign-up in order to upload images. However, they can assign a 'removal code' to uploaded images, in case they want to delete the files after a while, and tags to categorize images. BayImg currently supports 100+ file formats, and supports uploading Zip and Rar archives. The maximum file size of uploads is 100MB. The article also discusses TPB's plans for launching a video streaming service that will potentially compete with YouTube."

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Announced

"According to ZDNet, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) will be hitting beta in the middle of this month with a potential that the final version will be ready in November of this year. Sounds good! Though this is a rather rushed service pack as service packs normally take at least a year of testing before being released - I sure hope it works last thing I need is a messed up BitLocker preventing me from using my computer…

    So what's expected in SP1?

    * Performance tweaks lessening the amount of time it takes to copy files and shut down Vista machines
    * Improved transfer performance and decreased CPU utilization via support for SD Advanced Direct Memory Access (DMA)
    * Support for ExFat, the Windows file format for flash memory storage and other consumer devices
    * Improvements to BitLocker Drive Encryption to allow not just encryption of the whole Vista volume, but also locally created data volumes
    * The ability to boot Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) on an x64 machine
    * Improved success rate for firewalled MeetingSpace and Remote Assistance connections

But I still believe that the early release of a service pack - even a beta - is a welcome sight to all knowing that Microsoft is on the case and giving its customers the support that they expect and have paid for."

Intel Cuts Prices on Quad Core Chips

"Intel is giving a lot of cheap speed-freaks cause for celebration today, as the company has just announced some deep price cuts to its line of quad-core CPUs (and a few other price snips here and there). The chipmaker has knocked down the price of the 2.93GHz Core 2 Quad QZ6800 with a 1066MHz FSB to $999, the 2.66 GHz Q6700 to $530, and the 2.4GHz Q6600 to $300 (shaving off almost half of its price). With these new drops, the Q6600 has become the cheapest quad-core chip on the market, thus making chumps of the people who bought it a month ago, but those who've been waiting for the cuts will be glad they did. Additionally, Intel has reduced the cost of some of its Core 2 Duo processors, taking around $20 off of the cost of the 2.2GHz E4500 and the 2GHz E4400. Be sure to check out InformationWeek's complex breakdown of the cuts, and where to find the best deals."

Linkys brand coming to an end.

"John Chambers, Cisco’s CEO announces Cisco to kill off the Linksys name. Cisco has made new divisions focusing on the consumer market, and eventually making all of Linksys’s gear under the Cisco brand.

Hopefully all the hotspots out there with the SSID=Linksys; Channel 6; (and perhaps password Admin) will help the name to live on! "

^ Is that suppose to be some quick overlap of the first service pack that they can't get out in time? Or have they done this before already?
