ASUS' Eee PC now being served at NewEgg

If you're still hanging in there even after the price-hike, then you'll be happy to know that the Asus Eee PC just busted free on-line over at NewEgg. No sign of it at Best Buy yet so you're stuck with a $399 4GB model (only) at the moment. A $10.33 shipping insult is added to the failed expectation injury starting today.

Update: Sold out! Of course, NewEgg's initial allotment could have been one unit for all we know. Fortunately for those on the hunt, it looks like NewEgg expects to restock tomorrow.

Bell Canada Unlimited Internet and Email Data Plan

With the iPhone expected to land in the lap of a key rival, Bell Canada Inc. is hoping to make its own splash by offering a competing touch-screen device with what appears to be the country's first unlimited wireless data plan.

Bell is hoping to boost sales of its new HTC Touch smartphone this Christmas by offering voice subscribers the option of purchasing a $7 optional plan that adds unlimited access to email and the Internet.

The unlimited data plan, which is not available with other devices and does not allow subscribers to use the Touch as a wireless modem, roughly approximates the price and features of the cheapest plan offered by AT&T Inc. to users of Apple Inc.'s iPhone device in the U.S.

If You P2P Download In France: No Internet For You

A pact between the French Government, French ISP’s and the local music and film industry will see French users who download material from P2P networks losing their internet access.

French internet users will face a three strikes and you’re out policy, according to the NY Times. Users will receive a warning for each illegal download before losing their service on the third infringement.

yea.. the zune seems to be better than the ipod videos/classic.. they are a bit slimmer than the ipods but only prob is they dont have that much gigs as ipods.. lol

the price puts it exactly in the same range as the 80 gig ipod.... the fact that apple has a 160 gig version of their mp3 player is irrelevant because it sells for 100 dollars more. im sure if microsoft wanted to compete in that market it would be easy to slap a 160 gig HD in the zune, but i dont think people are looking for that much storage so i doubt it would be profitable

BlackBerry 9000 Series Perhaps.

An image surfaced on the BlackBerryForums this morning that purports to be of the upcoming BlackBerry 9000 series. The forum member with the scoop claims that the device has no touchscreen, and that rumors are raging even within RIM as to whether touchscreen devices are in the works. What can supposedly be confirmed is that the device in the picture is part of the 9000 series, 3G is being tested on multiple devices, and that HTML email is in the works for the BlackBerry service, possibly in conjunction with the launch of the 9xxx devices.

Mac Book Air Review

It fits in a manila folder, you can slide it under a door, and if you threw it hard enough you could probably chop someone in half with the thing. It's the thinnest, and if we may say so, the sexiest laptop around today: the MacBook Air. But looks aren't everything to everyone, and despite all the rhetoric about being a no-compromises ultraportable, Apple did leave plenty on the cutting-room floor to get this laptop so absurdly thin without having to skimp on niceties like a full size keyboard and a roomy 13-inch display. But, as many potential buyers have been asking themselves since last week, is the Air right to be your next machine? Read on, we'll tell you what we think.

PSP Time Machine Lets You Restore Firmware Versions of Old

Dark-AleX has just released a hack for the PSP that boots from the Memory Stick, and will allow you to select any firmware version you so choose. The app, dubbed Time Machine, will also boot-up PSPs with destroyed firmware, a second life for you not-so-great hackers out there. It functions via Pandora, and looks a bit tricky to get to grips with at the moment.

Nevertheless, the nifty bit of software will work on both the original PSP and the skinny, prettier version too. We just tried to grab the app from the link over at DCEmu, but it appears the servers are down from all those individuals trying to resurrect their PSPs like a phoenix from the flames. It's a waiting game for now, but as ever, proceed with caution

Asus Eee PC-Update

If you hadn't guessed from the headline, and as rumored just an hour ago, there's 9-inches of LCD on this thing. Actually, 8.9, but who's counting? We found out that and a few other little tidbits about this Eee PC "New Generation" at the ASUS booth just now, but for the most part the 9-inch Eee PC is quite similar to its 7-inch forebearer. Anything past that ASUS is saving for tomorrow's press event when this laptop will become officially official, but whatever they end up calling it (Eee PC 900 is rumored), it's certainly for real. The battery impact of the new display is said to be "negligible," with 2.5 to 3 hours of battery quoted. ASUS wouldn't let us turn it on since it's all so very secret at the moment, but they did confirm some release details. The 9-inch Eee will hit in the "middle" of 2008, with that €399 pricetag for the 12GB version, but other capacities available (we saw an 8GB on display). No word yet on US pricing, but we're trying to pry it out of them.
