^ Haha... I asked my friends before "Why not "Your Dad?"" but I guess it doesnt flows at well as "Your Mom". Well either way, words are created by human and the definition of a word is also created by human. Therefore, it really depends how you look at each word
i guess gay replaces other words cause it means like not normal...different..and stupid is different too...so its replacable with each other

i admittedly say it. but the word gay has different connotations in this day. think about it 50 odd years ago it meant happy.... Also the BBC (our public broadcaster in the UK) has deemed the word gay to be not offensive and to mean "rubbish" more than homosexual
aww, you'll get out of that "oh that so gay" phrase calling phase..it does get boring or uncalled for sometimes...me thinks =/
I agree with you. People should not say that because it is very disrespectful because saying it gives a negative connation to the word "Gay".
typically, people say "you're gay" because it's just like saying "F%#$ you" or "P%@$!@."It's just that gay isn't really a slang. So they try to substitute w/e they can to not use huge complusive words. Don't take it too seriously when people say "you're gay" because I don't... and what's more important.. fool around, have fun.. esp. in the teen age before you hit college and be all mature ;[
i know it's just to substitute words when people use the word "gay", but i just find it so unnecessary. if you don't want to use compulsive words, just use something like "stupid" or "lame". is it really that hard? now i feel even more strongly towards this whole thing, because just a couple of days ago my cousin came out and told me she was bisexual.

^ nah over time 'you're gay' will be replaced with something else just you sit back and wait......... and when it changes you'll be saying in my day, people used to say 'you're gay' ha ha -wheel

well everyone (at my school anyway) should know how disrespectful it is NOW, because every year we have people come to our school to talk to us about those who are gay or bisexual or transgender. plus every teacher has a sign in their room that has the words "That's so gay" in a circle crossed out.
but still, as i said u have realised that now, schools in my area dont have people coming into my school telling us that. so in england, london, u will get many people saying that phrase, no one takes it offensive because its taking a new meaning really. people would just say its gay and people will think its just a phrase to use when ur annoyed, or something u dont like
Hmm..well I use "your granny" then my friends will go "your grandpa" then finally we get to the point of no return where phrases like "your whole generation" get thrown around like dodgeball >.<
i remember i said this somewhere, sometime, ages ago xD i get offended sometimes when my friend said 'dude, that's gay' when we were going to have a test >.< it doesnt make sense for people to use the word gay to describe negative-related topic, but then i think the reason why a majority of people use the term gay because they narrow-minded. they dont like gay people because they are 'different' im not saying that you guys are narrow minded but im speaking in general hehe. anyways, have a nice day =]
