I preferred the book over the movie. Some friends who did not read the book yet liked the movie more than I did (but they found it confusing at parts).
There were some parts of the book that just didn't translate into movie form. Some parts just weren't as dramatic in the movie as they were in the book. Like the whole beginning of the movie, I think, lol. So the movie, I don't know. While not bad, I wouldn't say it was good. It was tolerable. I guess if you read the book I would say go see it.
i didnt think it was that good to tell you the truth i was really bored of it it didnt have any of the excitment,the rush u feel when your enjoyin the movie but the visuals were well done the highligh of this movie to me was when lan mellen character came into the story it added a little fun to the movie, so when he left it went back to the boringness for me
My friends that read it believed the movie wasnt as good as they thought it would be. The others who didn't read it but seen the movie thought it was brilliant. Reading the book before watching it may change your perspective of the movie. Overall I thought the book was great. Even though it based its ideas on another book "The Holy Blood, and The Holy Grail."
This one (Bernini's works) will relate to Angels and Demons (another Dan Brown's ). Rumour said that this one will be on theatre too soon....
I wanted to watch this movie so badly. But I haven't read the book yet, so I'm just going to read it over the summer and then rent the movie when it comes out. I don't want to watch it before reading the story because the books are always better. Don't want to kill it the way I did when I watched Memoirs of a Geisha without first reading the book, and didn't understand jack. >.<
The books way better than the film I think. The book is much more laid out and easier to follow, whereas the film runs at lightning pace and is hard to follow. Read the book first then watch the film I say!!

I have read the book and seen the film too, Would definitely recommend the book over the movie. You can not feel what the whole controversy and the impact of the inferences drawn in the story without reading the book.

In my opinion, the book was waaaaaaaay better than the movie because the movie was seriously boring. Things were just happening so quickly without any effort that I started drifting off...especially since I had just finished the book the day before seeing it. Anyways, the ending is different and they change some things, which just had me shaking my head. Ditch the movie, go for the book.
