I mean, for a few more, I could get an i7. The thing I ponder is whether the dual vs triple channel memory matters? I've been looking at a couple ASUS board.
windows not booting. loads the blue screen then restart. does it matter what sata number i plug into?
alright.. i'm using old comp again. There is something wrong with my cpu and motherboard that is not allowing windows to boot up. Is there some way to install drivers of the new bios to the old hard drive to make it more compatible? what is preventing my hard drive from booting windows on the new cpu and motherboard?
Are you in AHCI, SATA, or RAID 0? Check your motherboard setting. AHCI will make your computer boot the BSOD which happened to me when I installed my SSD, resulted in another fresh installation. But if you're in SATA and still getting those results, might want to check your connections to make sure everything is secured. Here's my new WEI
Typical business applications. I know the expensive part lies in the gaming aspect if I were to play game.
its on default ide. installing the drivers first for motherboard with cd it came in. Already the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver is out of date. But could that be cause of problem? might there be other drivers i need to install first? then install the new gpu drivers aswell. if it still doesn't boot, will windows repair help? read a few things online and pple just do fresh installs, i mean its 2010, shouldn't they have wys to bypass this??
Don't be assuming he has a Sata just because most are Satas... anyways ecko, can you describe everything you see, so you get a BSOD, and you mentioned to me there's no beeps... but the cpu light flashing, how many times does it flash? pretty much describe anything and everything you see
could this be solution to my problem? http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=articles&go=read&arc_id=36 so I mean, it boots up. I could even use Express Gate after installing from old comp. when I boot it load everything fine. when the windows logo is about to finish loading. BSOD pops up instantly and causes restart. Tried lauching windows repair but doesn't work. So should I try the solution mentioned in above link or do windows repair with disc?
no, before you go out and buy components, you gotta figure out what the issue is.. otherwise you're wasting money on new parts for no reason. first thing to do is to try to see if you can boot into safe mode. try that first afterwards. IF you can get into safe mode, you need to turn off automatic restart upon blue screen. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/automatic-restart-windows-7.htm if you can't boot anything up, again, try putting the pieces one by one, to figure out which component is corrupted
I haven't really looked at actual liquid cooling. But the Corsair H50, closed loop liquid, seems to work fairly well. A lot of people have posted idle temps of 30-35 and load 50-60 when overlocking the i5 760 and the i7 929/930 to about 3.8 to 4.
The corsair H50 is awesome, i have it cooling my stock AMD Phenom X4 965 at 20C Idle, and about 26C-30C gaming. But i have it in a Push-Pull Configuration, as it is in the H70 series.
what... ecko? you're liquid cooling now? dude do you even need to liquid cool? are you even overclocking? if so, why lol
