Hi, I live in Australia and was considering buying the tvpad m121 but I have a few questions. Is the setup hard? Because im an ABC (Australian Born Chinese hahaha) and i can't read chinese, only a bit but i guess my parents can do the reading altho they are not very tech. Would TVB work on the tvpad regardless of where i am and as long as i have a stable internet connection that is fast enough? Thank you!!
The quality is fine on the TV. You do see some pixelation, but nothing too disturbing. Check the Youtube videos and you will see. The quality was even excellent for people that were able to stream from the LilyTV app, but that went offline now. Welcome to the club, I can't read Chinese either The latest version has an English setup menu, so it's quite easy. Just read the FAQ in the main post for the steps on how to complete the setup. And yes, as long as you have a fast and stable Internet connection, you should be all set.

well I am not sure what 好播视频 and 好播音乐 are, but my guess are local music and video player. but for 综合影院 is only for older model up to part of M120 users, we M121 users can not use it. I can't see if there is any upgrade for 2.7.0 to 2.7.2, but they are working on 3.0.
I just copied the channels on a USB stick, but I have a feeling the USB port on my TVPad is defect. The light on my USB stick does not even turn on. I tried both a 4GB and a 16GB USB stick. I'll try at some other time with the microSD card when the TVPad is not being used. Yeah, I've managed to register on the TVPad official forum and requested that they add an English interface to the Movie Valley app in 3.0 No replies so far.
oh crap, that's unlucky. mine is a 16GB USB stick NTFS format and seems to work, what file system is yours? yea can't wait till 3.0 gets out. hope it's some nice feature.
NTFS as well. Hold on, now that I think about it ... I did format my USB stick once using the TVPad. So it can't be defect. So I am not sure why it does not see the apps. Will need to test a bit more. Edit: Or maybe it was the microSD card that I formatted ... hmmm.
TVPAD FOR $195 with Free Shipping!!! Hey guys, The ebay seller I bought my TVpad from is having a friends and family sale on his facebook page. Club TVpad It's a pre-order but still a damn good deal. The reason I recommend buying from them is because they are local in the US. I don't have to send my unit to Hong Kong which is pretty damn expensive if you want shipping with tracking. And it's good to have an authorized dealer that speaks english since I can't read or speak chinese.
I indeed do not see a reason to order from China if you live in the US. For the rest of us though, we do not really have an option The shipping is about 3 days (to Europe at least), so it's not a big deal though.
Just got a call from my parents and they warned me that someone from Hull, UK got caught and fined £2000 for having one of these units. I can't find anything on the internet about this. Is it true or are my parents confused it with something else.
I guess that person must have been selling them, unless the UK has some strange laws. Can't your parents get more detailed information ? You were one of the few that could watch the Lily channels without problems, so most of us cannot say that we really miss it. TVB and the rest are still available through the other app (with less quality though). You also have the Video-On-Demand app that is worth the money. Anyway, you are always free to get a satellite subscription for $300 per 6 months (see http://www.chinese-channel.co.uk/download/cs_chn.pdf). I think it's just fair to put things in perspective
atm we still have the satellite subscription but soon the contract will be over .... with the quality or the stability from the tvpad give now is not that easy for mine parents to give up the official one the lily app has the hk channels with good sound and almost the same picture quality. the other apps got average picture quality and crispy sound .... i prefer pay some monthly fees for getting better support from them ....
