lol didn't watch the first thing you talked about and i missed out on the first duke of mount deer...heard tons of stuff about it but never watched it...and yes its really unfortunate cause tony leung feels like a character that would've fit the role to perfection. and now you can't talk to me anymore. -cry2 and i'm not a true tvb fan:tear: but before that i just want to say i have watched the one before dicky cheung also...the one with jordan chan and i have to say that one was wayyyy funnier than the dicky cheung one. in the end i think i liked it better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYlRP_9C6hE dicky cheung's one was too emotional so it didn't feel like it fits too well and i hate when the princess died lol....usually i don't hate "death" endings too much but i hated that one. dicky cheung's version had the hot chicks though and one of them is actually his real wifey lol. But yea jordan chan's version was insanely funny.

ok lee lee you might not be responding to this cause i'm not a real tvb fan in your eyes anymore but imma do it anyways :tongue2: lol who's esther kwan's husband again, is he a comedian too or what. and yea lol ada choi just has a really really annoying voice and personality...although i must say she's quite pretty sometimes. but she kinda feels like a twig in movies, like she's kinda skinny lol. and yea the little girl is probably abandon lol, she was pretty fat back then haha, wonder if she got fatter or what ( just telling the truth:D) but did you see fate twisters? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOXduwIp2og she was ada choi's "daughter" in this show and theres that guy from taste of love...she was pretty "cute" here but a little too childish, my parent love to watch her in movies lol. lol yea i remember that show with gong wah haha, was like melissa ng or whatever her name in it too? but yea it was funny. yea it sucks that she's sick, she got a disease or something. and her name is maggie cheung i found out lol...

yea i remember tons of people died in the end...including maggie shiu. also leon and kathy didn't end up together lol...but wan siu lan's evil character was cool in here, he was crazy lol. i missed that show too lol....but damn it's like i know every adam cheng song or what cause i heard that song probably like a hundred time, it's in my head....again that series seemed like it had a awesome cast grrrr.....

lol yea you gotta find it haha.... his see fu in country spirit is also in plain love II....you know how funny that guy is lol...

oh yea that show was hilarious i think, but can't remember too much besides him having two wifes at the end and also the investigating the dead bodies and shit. and yea sequels, sometimes i just hate that they just bring back a character and kills them off for no reason or they end a relationship all of a sudden, and not just any relationship but one that was build up like for the whole show during the first part. like on the first beat...also sometimes its like "mo tao wu ying" or "fly with no head" shit...stuff just pops out of nowhere...like the differences between journey to the west II and the first one....the first one was all emotional and one of my favorite shows ever. and then they change the monkey king in the second one and the emotional qualities of the first one are like completely gone. also like one key character in the monkey king's "love circle" was killed in a really dramatic way in the first one...they could've left it as it is but they brought her back magically like out of nowhere in the second one...killing the impact and the show left a bad taste in my mouth....really disappointing stuff as i re-watched the series now. theres just tons of remakes and sequels that makes you want to break your vcr cause they are soo unfaithful and dumb to the original...just like the armed reaction series also.

lol i didn't have to go through the commercials cause my uncles actually taped the shows hehe...so i just sit there and watch lol. and yea vcr can suck like that....i mean one time it fucked up the tape we fixed the tape but this other time, it was permanently damaged. lol lee lee better go restock on like boxes and boxes of blank vhs tapes when they are on sale then haha cause with all these future formats, vhs is gonna be buried completely and you don't want to bid for them on ebay or something. lol damn thats a lot of rewinders lol, i had one that was kinda messed up and i remember we had to stack tapes on it when we rewind or the lid will pop up lol....but about vhs vs. dvd...everyone switches because dvd are way better value...i mean you can fit about 6 hrs of video onto a disc...a disc costs like 8 cents and a tape costs a dollar lol...and lee lol that is weirrrddd......haha...but i'm weird too, labeling the vhs with chinese letters even though i can't read chinese...but the funny thing is i would be able to recognize what it is by counting the letters or remembering a particular letter from the title...and lee now your not the only one with issues. :wiggle:

haha lol responding takes me at least 20 mins or so, so not to surprising...but a break between huh, lol proves how far in length we go with talking about tvb nows. and that show omg.....that song is stuck in my head like forever after seeing the intro...i think i only watched a part of it and wong yat wah is always a cool character lol...did you ever watch this show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5flD7ciSGP4 ....i loved it lol....it's kinda a guy thing though....sworn brotherhood and action makes this awesome...the effects were giving me the "wow factor" at that time lol...benny chan and the monk were insanely funny and wong yat wah was like the ultimate badass character... lol i'll finish with that haha. and oh yea lee lee you should check out my "dead" movie review thread: http://www.dramasian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23695 ....lol my only other long writing thread sorta, we might be able to revive it haha...or not.

oh my god nas....i am at this very moment feeling nothing but disappointment in u. i can't
believe u've never seen duke of mount deer(the original) ...okay, moment of disappointmentis over. hahha...
i'll still talk to u. i'll just do it with an air of arrogance cause i am now better then u cause i've seen it.
    joke. joke. joke.
jordan chan did a version of duke of mount deer? never knew. another one to put on my list of "dramas
to watch when i'm retired (aka, waiting to die, haha). i love jordan chan. i don't really know why. no, hold
on i know why i love him. he's chicken!!! (reference to his beloved role in young and dangerous with my
    other beloved, ekin cheung)
the dicky cheung version, i dunno. it was okay but honestly, i see dicky cheung in pretty much an asexual
light. do not in anyway find him attractive so it was hard to believe that all those girls wanted him.

Nick Cheung!!!! u prob best know him as 'bak fu' from legendary four aces. i also liked his 'up and down
in the sea of love' with maggie cheung. he's hella funny.

hey! fate twisters was just on the chinese channel not too long ago. i rewatched the whole thing. (and
taped it, but of course!!! hahahahahhaha) i liked that one. but, yeah i know what u mean by the skinny thing.
but that's the hk standard. my parents also loved that little girls lots too.
speaking of maggie cheung...did u ever see ' a smiling ghost story'? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYNzQeQdbEs cute one. the ending had me all confused though.
if it didn't actually happen, then did all the other events that occured not happen either? the ending was one
of those confusing ones for me. but as expected of tvb, they would do anything so the main characters would end up together.
omg...however, this does bring me to 'at a threshold of an era' why on earth did 'lik tin' (gallen lo) and
helen (fala chan) end up together in the end? grrrrrrrrrr.....that is like my all time most HATED couples
that did not end up together. after all the shit they went thru, they didn't end up together.

oh i do stock up on vhs tapes. when family visit me, they bring me vhs tapes saying that it was on
sale, so they buy some for me. hahahahahaha :laugh::laugh: at x-mas time, my stocking
is usually stocked with them. one year, i got a HUGE box of them for my b-day. it was like
one of the best gifts i got. i love it. it's like my whole
family knows i'm insane and they totally support it. but i guess, it's also kinda cheap so it's
okay to support my insanity. right now, i have about 100 empty vhs tapes
waiting to be used. sometimes, when i know the tapes has seen better days, i whip out the second
vcr and record the drama from the old tape to the new one. i told u i was hardcore about my dramas!
    :laugh::laugh::laugh:
omg...speaking of stacking things on top of the tape rewinder so it works. i have to do that too!!!
except cause the top part of mine is rounded, nothing stays on top, so i have to sit there pushing
down the rewinder. oh gosh, the hilariousness of life.

no, unfortuanately, i have not seen that wong yat wah drama. oooohhhh meeee god, have u seen this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC7XhdXhsxs&feature=related tian dai ho ching or something. kill me...this one was soooooo good. sooooooo good....

back to the whole, i hate that ending shtick....did u ever see return of the cuckoo with cheung chi-lum?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bnEzZNM0KY&feature=related stupid ass ending.
grrrr...i was mad for like a whole week after i saw the ending of that one. -censored my mom kept
giving me reasons why it was the right ending cause the mother wanted a better life for her daughter
and chi-lam couldn't give that to her. all a total load of crap. i hate steven ma just because of this role.
well, not anymore...but at that time...i was just so  at him.
but remember that one scene where the mother of charmaine tried to send chi-lam away cause she
found out that charmaine and him were beginning to have feelings for each other. omg...when chi-lam
was asking her why she didn't want him...i cried a river...

i don't really watch movies so i don't think i can help with that thread. as u can see, all the drama watching takes up too much time. hahahha
movies just aren't long enuf. i usually end up with more questions then actually enjoying it.

    now, i have to eat.

bahhh damn you lee lee......-rolleyes anyways yea you should watch jordan chan's version of duke of mount deer, it's good. certainly funnier and not as emotional as dicky cheungs version, the woman who played his mom is also hilarious. yea lee lee put off everything now till your retired haha, then all of the tapes would've been dis-functional haha. lol dicky cheung nowadays seems like he's playing the same character over and over again. seriously if you like saw him in journey to the west 1, he was kinda different. but now when he plays character, they feel like the same person but just in a different setting, in a different movie and has a different name. His characters right now usually all have a single song or line that is repeated over and over again and it includes his character name usually...Like this show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p6RLdtN7F8 ...he played basically the same guy as the character he played in duke of mountdeer 2000, the only difference is that he is yik yau instead of wai siu bo lol....and different setting. lol lee lee....would would you like playing wai siu bo now haha, but isn't the character the show is based on, ugly but just charming, cunning and smart...now pretty boys usually don't do roles like that :kekekegay: ....but yea its kinda ridiculous that all these hot chicks would really fall in love with one guy...especially the princess lol, in the jordan chan version i understood cause the princess was ugly, but the one is domd 2000 was hawt....really hard to believe.

lol i seriously never knew until you mention it, i never really imagined them to be a real couple, so did they hook up during the legendary four aces or what haha....but yea nick cheung is pretty much hilarious...he's also starring in some movies nowadays.

lol that girl was just acting too stupid/cute in that show, of course my parents liked it, but i got sick of seeing them watch that show haha. uh no i never saw that maggie cheung thing i think lol. haha yea i remember that gallen and helen didn't end up together....and it's not fala chan!!! haha..its flora!!!! lol fala is the youngling. but i remember they had a one night stand or something though and also that one girl character, melissa ng or someone else either attempted suicide or did kill herself, was that one of the reasons? i really forgot, or am i talking about their relationship in another show.

hahaha, get video tapes for b-day and x-mas, wow lee lee....your more addicted to vhs tapes now than i thought haha....damn lee lee if i ever meet you, i'll get you like a 10 pack 6hr video tapes as a hello present okie lol....but yea video tapes are now like what, under a dollar, i would say they are pretty affordable, but they are very space consuming....i mean 250 tapes you probably need a huge 1-2 boxes, 250 dvds, a binder size album/case will do lol... haha lee lee how many vcrs have you broken now... i think we've broken like 3-4, we have like 3 more hehe.... gotta keep em in stock lee lee, cause they won't make them later and those tapes would be useless. and i really believe you're hardcore at them dramas now :kekekegay: lol lee lee...you and me have very similar experiences with the reminder i must say...very unfortunate experiences...i get mad when you have to sit there and hold and also have to rewind like 10 tapes or more...ouch.

lol you should see that drama, has emotional and some funny ass moments....omg i remember this but forgot what it was called....wait was this the one where nick cheung's name was kevin and he was like a psycho or something. and ada choi was like diana or something and she got killed at the end....cause i remember something like that and i always called nick cheung kevin and ada choi diana before i knew there name. if this is that show...omg yup this is good.

lol yup, i've watched that one..........multiple times, and not because i liked it that much...but because my parents watched it lol.... haha yea that show had a pretty dumb ending, it's like her mother helped her decide her faith, well man chor (chi-lam's character) was kinda a wimp sorta, but he handed over charmaine because steven ma helped him a lot. first of all though, i think it's not that right for them to fall in love because they were practically brothers and sisters. man chor and charmaines character. yea lee lee that was pretty sad, chi lams character makes stuff emotional cause he's usually funny and uplifting, so if you see drama in his character, you usually feel it. steven ma, i don't really like the guy haha...he always play like the character that's gonna steal the woman. such a bastard. also that show lol did like something that is not always true to life, you know the mother's evil sister....always swear on her kids life and do evil things. i mean the little son and her deserve the punishment, but the big son was nice as hell and didn't deserve the ending. i know they are following the buddhists beliefs that if you do bad, karma will hit you bad and all...but i just didn't think it would be appropriate in this show and also that her swearing came out to be real is really just unrealistic in this setting you know...it's not like a fantasy or mythical movies or whatever. and the idea that you can swear with someone else's life is just pretty much absurd....like my parents also said that what the parent do for karma, can affect the kid too, i mean it's just a messed up beliefs yo. cause no matter the bloodline similarity....there are two different people here....sorry kinda got off topic lol...

haha lee lee okie....hope you enjoy watching all these dramas and don't have to actually wait till retirement to have a chance in watching them....laters.

i have already thought ahead nas, one of my uncles works in electronics and can
fix anything so i'm set for life. dancey1

i haven't seen that one dicky cheung drama ur talking about. isn't that a china production one?
i think it's been awhile since he made any tvb dramas....
i do however, LOVE this one from him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu_GLRnKUmI
this is like in my top 10 of dramas. it's silly, stupid, funny and manages to tell a meaningful story.
    love it to pieces.
but the wai siu bow part, i dunno. with tony leung, even if he's not exactly mr. GQ, he's still
got this quality about him that makes him attractive. and jordan chan, his teeth bugs me to no
ends but he's still attractive...sort of.... but dicky cheung is just....meh...i just don't see it i guess.
but the thing is i think the whole cunning, smart and funny thing is attractive, so u woulda think that
i would find dicky cheung attractive but no. it did not happen.

i dunno if they hooked up in that drama yeah, he's funny. he doesn't really do dramas anymore.
speaking of films, did u ever see him in this one film with andy lau called 'prince charming'. it was one
of those stupid silly films. i loved it to death. this one part where he's threatening to jump off andy's
    apartment was freaking hilarious.

hahahahha...fala is the cute girl from heart of greed right? hahahah fala...flora...fala...flora....fela fala...watever...u know what i mean.
but yes, stupid ass ending. :rl::rl: i don't think melissa ng was in threshold of an era...hold on, who's
melissa ng? hahahahahahahha i don't remember it very much anymore. i just remember stupid ppl not
ending up together. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....and the whole part where louis koo really goes insane and
like tries to kill ada choi. which is such a load of crap cause in the beginning he woulda given up his life
for her. but i guess they were trying to show that revenge had really taken over his life and made him
nuts. i dunno. threshold of an era II left a sour taste in my mouth.

oh meee god...tapes as a hello present. u can now be my best friend. hahahahhahahah...but yeah,
the way i see it, ppl still like records for music, i like tapes for my movies. it's just the way i roll yo'. hahah
but i do agree, the space it takes up is astronomical. my mom won't let me store it in the living room cause
there's no room so it's all holed up in my room. it's all stacked in boxes and then i buy table cloths
to cover them and i use the boxes as stands for stuff. (of course, there's a plastic layer underneath
the cloth to prevent water spills of anykind. ahhahahahahahhaah)
i have surprisingly only gone thru 2 vcrs. the first one died but my 120 dollar sony vcr has decided
to stick with me thru my insanity. best 120 i ever spent. have had it for like 7 years.

YES!!! nick cheung was INSANELY crazy in this one. he's was just soooo freaking evil. wasn't it soooo good...(drifting off into memory flashbacks....okay i'm back..hahaha)

wait...wat happened to the mother's sister's kids again? i remember the part when the stup[id evil
woman swore her doings on her kids but i dont remember wat happened...yes, that lady was soooo
damn evil. now, there's a good actress cause if i saw her on the streets during the broadcast of
that drama, i woulda slapped her. hahahahha...i remember that part where she made that promise, i remember like gasping and was like, "omg...she's gonna pay tenfold for it" and she did. i guess the
whole point of it was to tell ppl that shit doesn't forget u. sooner or later,it will be paid back. tvb was
really trying to get the point across. haha.

well, not retirement maybe. more like after i earn my 10 million...haha

omg...i have to add this. i know u prob haven't seen this cause it's damn old....but i watched this a few years
back when i my grandma gave me this set of tapes cause she moved on to getting the dvd version. muahahhahahahahahah...
anyhoo, the song is so kickass, it's worth watching the vid. andy looks soooo young....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkbHYP64cI4&feature=related
aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh...sooo good. "gou gou". u prob think i'm nuts saying that if u haven't seen
this drama, but for anyone that has seen it, it makes total sense.
by the way, message to raymond lam, if u wanna go for cool strands of hair, this is how u do it.
andy is so freaking awesome. that one pose at 3:21 in the vid is sooo freaking cool. hahahahah....
okay, i'll stop writing now. i know u think i'm insane by now.

Shinobi man, feel free to join us and make this even longer lol (Y)

lol now the next thing would be to get a boyfriend/future husband that knows how to fix your VCRs cause you can't always just go ask your uncle for help, he has a family too right :tongue2: lol lee lee still one day those vid tapes are gonna get swallowed by that hungry vcr :shifty:...sorry

Oh man that drama you talking about looks really funny as hell, soo many people in it damn. how can i miss out on that!

yea i dunno if they hooked up in that drama too, but i think dicky cheung does dramas in ATV or something now and he's not with TVB anymore, but he still does dramas. Lol unfortunately i haven't seen that many old films to know what your talking about.

lol yea fala chen is cute hehe.... lol and i think i'm talking about another drama now with melissa ng, gallen and flora haha.... and talking about gallen lo dramas, you've seen this right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P3_x1r1RMs Golden Faith lol the crazy guy in here is also insane hahaha....always haunting after "SABRINA" now that reminds me of "DIANA" hehe....but i remember i started kinda disliking tavia yeung in here cause her crying was horrendous... can't stand her crying lol. but i think myolie's role in here was pretty good since she plays a disabled kid, at least it wasn't annoying from what i remembered. And also i think i saw this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S-Yg7cl8U0 but unfortunately i absolutely forgot everything about it except the song :( looks hilarious.

lol i would probably have to get you big ass cardboard boxes also...lol yea true that but records are worth more nowadays i think right lol. lol lee lee knows how to protect those tapes, buying table cloths and covering them with plastics haha.... no wonder those tapes still love you and won't die on you...me i just throw dvds and tapes everywhere. lol still Go stack up on them VCRs since they are cheap now, like 10-20 bucks lol.

lol yeah, wasn't he a rich boy at first or something, then he went insane for ada. i think at the end you can't really be certain that ada's dead or something, all you see was blood all over the wall and that made it more suspenseful. but yea this was a pretty good show from my memory. another show that i'm sure i've watched but forgot everything but still remember the theme, this one has nick cheung in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGO7urHTAoA .... lol theres a patten here...damn i gotta get these tapes back and rewatch this stuff..... i kinda remember that it was funny between jessica and nick though...

a big ass truck slammed into them and they died.... it's kinda fucked up though that they want to put the message that the parents can swear things on their kids...luckily i'm not a religious person. but still that is absurd to be able to "swear" on another person's life yo...but yea she was a bitch and her voice was freaking annoying as hell also lol... the funny part is that she always say she's "fair" haha... lol yea tvb was trying to get the point across, but i just think they did it the wrong way....

One show was really also trying to do this type of "What Goes Around Comes around" thing, it's ATV though so i dunno if you've seen it... "Ten Tigers of Guangdong" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If3-5hSm25o ....but it's not really believable though...he deserved it but he deserved the "payback from god" really earlier.... it's really funny what he said when he died though....oh yea the bad dude was Chapman To, he was evil and funny as hell in here. Alot of show was trying to show that type of "What Goes Around Come Around" belief but i think return of the cuckoo and this show was very evident of doing that from what i remember lol. Well that's what most TVB shows do to the villain anyways, the villain never prevails.

lol another one...of the heard never saw...gahhhh i have to watch more old school tvb dramas with these actors, most of them moved on to becoming A-List Celebrities in hong kong..... lol raymond lam looks girly with his hair usually hahahhaa.... lol lee lee your not insane....your just a true tvb fan and i'm not a "true" tvb fan yet haha...:tongue2:
