This Sony Screw; It Is Special.

    hehe.

    if u must know, not all screws are made the same, but the one Sony has looks very standard. off hand, #8, screw for metal, self tapping, 1.5 inches long, tempered for heat.

    info : there are special screws that the military and aerospaces industry uses that are REALLY expensive to produce...like up to 1k USD. These screws are design to withstand fatique, g-forces, heat, temperature changes, light weighted, etc, etc. It is like, would you fly in a plane that don;t have these characteristics?

    True, but the fact that SONY produced this special screw just make me think of household electronics :p

    Hey I can get a screw like that, paint it black and sell it on ebay for $50 USD or something xD

    sony are always pushing new expensive non-standard only sony can make crap

    Mini Disk
    Memory cards
    UMD disk

    and now Sony Screws

    Hah~! Don't even mention mini disks!! I thought they'd catch on later, but I see I've wasted cold hard cash on yet another ignored gadget!
