CDC recommends Pfizer, Moderna vaccines over J&J shots for adults due to rare blood clot cases

    • CDC has confirmed 54 cases of people developing blood clots and showing low blood platelet levels following J&J vaccination.
    • All of the patients were hospitalized, nine people died, and 36 were treated in intensive care.

My point stands - until CDC / FDA / NIH / other health agencies willing to admit / "confirms" the adverse reactions of each vaccines reported in VAERS, no one knows what they'll "discover" in the future. Pray hard  folks, that the causes of European athletes collapsing in mid soccer games have no relations with Pfizer / Moderna / other vaccine shots.

Edit: December 19th 2021 news - I guess death is one of the side effects? New Zealand links 26-year-old-man's death to Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
New Zealand's vaccine safety board also said another two people, including a 13-year-old, had died with possible myocarditis after taking their vaccinations. More details were needed before linking the child's death to the vaccine, while the death of a man in his 60s was unlikely related to the vaccine, it said.
Despite the rare side effects, the vaccine safety board said the benefits of vaccination greatly outweighed the risks.

For some context on the news, New Zealand has a total of 49 deaths.

Since I can't find details on NZ, I'll use US - based on heritage, 13 and 26 years old dying from Covid barely even register on the chart. Based on statista, 655 for ages 0-17 years old and 4781 from 18-29 age group (out of 828k total deaths in US). Based on CDC, less than 1x for 5-17 years old.

Still greatly outweighed the risks ? You decide.

You should compare that to the risk of death from Tylenol; and yes, death is one of the risks of taking tylenol.

When one looks at the numbers of people potentially saved, that's the whole point. While an individual might not want to chance it, from an statistical point of view in overall public health, it is a slam dunk that the vaccine actually saves more than it kills. More than 6 billion in the world have gotten the shot. At roughly 2% death rate, that's potentially 120 million deaths prevented. How many deaths from the vaccine? If the vaccine kills more than 120 million, then I would say that it isn't helping. But as it is, despite the number of deaths the vaccine causes, even if it's hundreds of thousands (which it clearly is not) it is obviously winning the numbers game.

ralphrepo - thread is not about whether to get vaccinated or booster or not. Nor is it about mandates or not.

I'm posting side effects (per thread purpose) as and when I see it and let the readers decide themselves the risks -
    1) of potentially dying from vaccine OR
    2) potentially dying from Covid.

especially now, with 2 meds approved to treat covid.

Also, I have always maintained there are unknown risks - which will be "unknown" until they admit to it. Who knows how many will die from the Covid vaccine at the end of this whole madness - based on FDA, we won't find out for next 75 years. If you follow the releases (so far 2 batches, if I'm not mistaken), whatever that had been released showed more harmful in larger numbers than led to believe.
Approved vaccine use in 108 days but needs 75 years to release on FOIA lawsuit.

Dr Ben Carson wrote an article recently - he pointed out that the disease is mired by politics and special interest. IF it hadn't, likely will have better control of the pandemic by now. Look it up if you are interested. I'm too lazy to look for it / link it, which, is unrelated to this thread. :D

I understand why you're doing it, but continue to want to point out that yes, while there are risks, the risks involved are outweighed by the benefit. We can also point out the risks of living in an apartment, crossing the street, taking an airplane, et cetera; you get the point. As long as there are risks, nothing is ever 100% safe.

    ralphrepo Speaking of risk:

Based on today's numbers (December 28, 2021), in US, total deaths are 839,605 people out of 53,791,852 cases, which is approximately 1.560% (call it 2%) of the number you mentioned before.
Below is the covid deaths number by age, as of December 15, 2021. Out of the 797503 dead, 596339 are 65 years old and older (74.77576886858 % or 75%).

    Source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us/

A smaller subset of the 1.56% of deaths in US for younger folks is the risk we are talking about.
    Additionally, vaccines do not
    a) prevent transmissions or infections.
    b) prevent deaths (go search for UK PHE data since it's beginning to get out of topic again).

Again, I leave it to the reader to decide for themselves. It's their lives and therefore, their choice. I'm just posting side effects and stats for those that aren't following closely.

Was listening to Joe Rogan interview with Dr Robert Malone. Dr Malone quoted a Hong Kong study that piqued my curiosity and did some searching. Comirnaty aka Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine; published Nov 28 2021 on NIH website.

Found the source below with the following results and conclusion:

Results: Between 14 June 2021 and 4 September 2021, 33 Chinese adolescents who developed acute myocarditis/pericarditis following Comirnaty vaccination were identified. 29 (87.88%) were males and 4 (12.12%) were females, with a median age of 15.25 years. 27 (81.82%) and 6 (18.18%) cases developed acute myocarditis/pericarditis after receiving the second and first dose, respectively. All cases are mild and required only conservative management. The overall incidence of acute myocarditis/pericarditis was 18.52 (95% Confidence Interval [CI], 11.67-29.01) per 100,000 persons vaccinated. The incidence after the first and second doses were 3.37 (95%CI 1.12-9.51) and 21.22 (95%CI 13.78-32.28 per 100,000 persons vaccinated, respectively. Among male adolescents, the incidence after the first and second doses were 5.57 (95% CI 2.38-12.53) and 37.32 (95% CI 26.98-51.25) per 100,000 persons vaccinated.

Conclusions: There is a significant increase in the risk of acute myocarditis/pericarditis following Comirnaty vaccination among Chinese male adolescents, especially after the second dose.

    For side effects documentation:
New study - MRNA gets into Liver Cells and converted to DNA

    1st paragraph quote:
Preclinical studies of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, showed reversible hepatic effects in animals that received the BNT162b2 injection. Furthermore, a recent study showed that SARS-CoV-2 RNA can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the genome of human cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of BNT162b2 on the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro. Huh7 cells were exposed to BNT162b2, and quantitative PCR was performed on RNA extracted from the cells. We detected high levels of BNT162b2 in Huh7 cells and changes in gene expression of long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1), which is an endogenous reverse transcriptase. Immunohistochemistry using antibody binding to LINE-1 open reading frame-1 RNA-binding protein (ORFp1) on Huh7 cells treated with BNT162b2 indicated increased nucleus distribution of LINE-1. PCR on genomic DNA of Huh7 cells exposed to BNT162b2 amplified the DNA sequence unique to BNT162b2. Our results indicate a fast up-take of BNT162b2 into human liver cell line Huh7, leading to changes in LINE-1 expression and distribution. We also show that BNT162b2 mRNA is reverse transcribed intracellularly into DNA in as fast as 6 h upon BNT162b2 exposure.
