^btw, i think of him as a rep for Yip Man :] yeah, why not a white? they used a canadian for goku in dragonball T_T
I think it will be kind of weird seeing Rain as Bruce Lee since Bruce Lee is a chinese character and rain is korean
Green Hornet now Enter the Dragon? =_=" No one can replace Bruce Lee. Know why? Because he opened up the world of Martial Arts to the world. The point of the was to share the Chinese culture to the world. Let the world know more about the Chinese culture. Furthermore, he wanted people to understand his philosophy. "Style concludes. Man grows." If you watch his movie tower of death, Bruce says that the point of the movie is to show that a person with many styles can go all the way up to the top of the tower, because he is not limiting himself, while those who stick to their single style will only end up at the bottom. Whereas Enter the Dragon is to "understand thyself," and thus control. I doubt I'll see any of this in this movie. Sigh... Warners... Dont watch this movie... boycott it like Dragonball LOL
I agree with the Chinese opinion part. I just want to add to that this is film from a legend, it would be consider a HUGE disrespect even though the original movie was a Hollywood movie. I would have to go against with you about Rain being a good candidate. I really just can't see him because he doesn't have that hard, no-bullshit, don't *beep* with me natural presence that Lee had. This does sound bias, but I would see Rain as forcing that hardness that Lee had possessed naturally.
Why the hell are they even remaking the movie??? Rain... wow horrible. I agree, Donnie Yen would be much better.
i think rain is not too bad of a candidate but for a non chinese person to play Bruce Lee, its not a very good idea iindeed. They should choose a chinese actor that knows like martial arts background like Donnie Yen (甄子丹).
Oh dag...the pic with him all bloody is sick! He looks like a softee but after seeing that picture with him without his shirt I'm having second thoughts
wow,Rain's face look soo skinny now....and i agree with your comments, many people also(the non chinese particularly),won't care whether he's Korean or Chinese.
Steven had some pretty good movies back in the days, but the craps he been doing is just that...crap. It's sad just seeing him trying to be the old seagal.
seagal is da man, i remember the movie where he went to jamaica and beat up the whole country solo and in one movie he was in a taxi and he 'slapped' the man so had he went flying out the car... da man!
I don't believe that it matters if it's korean, japanese, or chinese that plays the character as long as they look and act the part. I do believe that donnie yen would be a better choice. I haven't seen much of rain's acting to believe he would do well.
I think anybody who accepts the role will get criticized, no matter what lol. That's what happens when you remake classics. Rain is a great dancer, with agile moves & all that. But Kung Fu fighter he is not. -nono I would favor either Jet Li or Donnie Yen to take it. But even if they do, they'll still get criticized -lol
