I only speak Cantonese, from HK, can understand a bit of Mandrarin, but I find Taiwan style Mandarin easier to understand than Mainland Chinese Mandarin.
I speak cantonese and my parents originate from a area called saim soi . That's the best I could sound it out but it's spoken in Cantonese as 3 and then water . 3 = Saim , Water = Soi . So yeah ... I don't know what the place my grandma lives in now is though . Some family members live in HK, some in our city, some in Hawaii . Most back in China somewhere ... The city is 5 hours or so bus ride from HK
i was born and raised in Panama therefore i know spanish but at home i would speak cantonese but because my grandparents only understood taishanese i had to learn that too. =)
