I SPEAK TAISHANESE !! ^_^ But I can understand and speak Cantonese too (just from TVB and HK movies that I watch). =) It's Taishan at home and Cantonese and/or English at school with my friends. xP Both my parents were from Taishan but they're from a different part in Taishan. HAHA So there are a couple of words that they say differently. Like chopsticks, my dad says "fai doo" and my mom says "fai gee". xD
it seems like ppl speak canto more than mandarin but ppl say mandarin is the main dialect and is spoken more often btw i speak canto, i know a few words in mandarin
I speak Taishanese at home and Cantonese to my friends. I'm an ABC, so I have those moments where I confuse both languages and my friends ask me what am i saying.
My first language is Cantonese, i speak with to the family (mainly the adults) since all the 'kids' (my brother and cousins who were born in NZ too) know English fluently.
check out this thread it was made off the same topic http://www.dramasian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9442

1.Taishanese 2.Cantonese 3.Mandarin But I'm pretty terrible at all of then so i call myself chinglish (mixing chinese with english words)
I can speak mandarin, and when I was little Shan Dong hua. I also understand most of Tai yuan hua, shan xi hua, and yun cheng hua. Mostly northern dialects. I know a little canto as well, but it is so bad it is embarrassing.
