cantonese, hakka, mandarin, can understand hokkien, learning to listen to fuichow now, so how can understand a bit of teohchiew because it sounds quite similar to hokkien. base is cantonese though, i'm a Canton girl.
I speak Cantonese. Although I can understand a bit mandarin since cantonese and mandarin are derive across. But in the world of business, mandarin would be the primary case since it is easier to learn for someone who doesn't know both language due to the number of tone/accent. Like madarin have 4type and canto have like 6-7 type. headbang2
I speak Cantonese and a bit of Mandarin. I took a few classes for Mandarin but it is still very poor and would prefer not to speak it. My parents/ grandparents spoke to us in Cantonese, so I'm more accustomed to it. Also, watching tvb series def helped improve my Cantonese.
