i speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.. but i can only understand Hakka, can't speak the language -^_^!!
Well, I can speak primarily Cantonese. But technically speaking, I'm suppose to know how to speak Toisanese and Shanghainese...but it's because I don't practice those dialects at home on a regular basis and we normally speak Cantonese or English at home. I wouldn't mind learning the basics for the 2 dialects that I don't speak (now). That way I wouldn't lose that part of the heritage in me.
I'm Team Cantonese ! I speak it okay but writing and reading I'm crap at.. I understand Hakka too because my mum is Hakka. Mandarin = don't understand most of it but I'm trying to learn it on language/social sites like My Happy Planet.. unsuccessfully :((( anyone speak Chinese and lives in Leeds wanna give me a hand??
I can speak Cantonese fluently but i'm a bit shibby on reading & especially writing! My parents are from Hong Kong & my dad can speak Hakka.. so i understad a lil of it! I wish i could speak mandarin, but i need to top up on my cantonese first!
