waterpolo there is alot of underwater fight and you need to swim real hard if you want to compete in a international level....

7. i think it depends on the person in question, not everyone is the same so it depends on your strengths and weaknesses. i would say all-round it would be the 'Triathlon'.

MMA, as its a combo between multiple martial art disciplines. being a wrestler and having boxed before, wrestling was harder than boxing.

After yesterday's epic Wimbledon match between American John Isner and Frenchman Nicholas Mahut, u would have to say 'playing tennis @Grand Slam'. gfight1

The match was deadlocked at 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 6-7 (3-7) 59-59 when match officials decided to suspend play due to bad light. Play will resume today. (just hope these two blokes don't get tennis elbow after this match. hehe...)

Some interesting facts about the match:

* The two players have been on court playing for about 10hrs.
* The unfinished final set alone has lasted 7hrs 6mins.
* Isner has served 98 aces and Mahut 95 aces.
* Mahut had 21 double faults for the match, Isner had 9.
* The scoreboard gave up at 47-47
* When play was called off for the day, Mahut had won 452 points to Isner's 429.

Update

After 11hr 5min (spreaded over 3 days), John Isner finally claimed the final set 70-68 winning the longest match in tennis history.

* Isner served 112 aces, Mahut 103 aces.
* The final set alone has lasted 8hrs 18mins.
* 1080 points were played. Mahut won 502 to Isner 478.
* 183 games were played. 138 games in the fifth set, the longest set in grand slam history.

Final score: 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 6-7 (3-7) 70-68

I don't think u will ever see anything like this again in a million years. hehehe...

MMA is the most demanding sport. Don't let the three 5-min round fool you. Conditioning is the essence of even make it through the first round. See how many scary looking hardwares (muscle man) got wiped out the first round. Go check out how they train. Not NFL style, not Rocky style, not NBA style, not even boxing style. It's MMA style.

mma fighting for sure.

18. Imo the most demanding sport is one that requires the full control of the mind. It's funny that this thread has been revived, because I just had someone facebook me this video:

With the success rate of less than 1% (considered the hardest test in Japan), this is ONE of the many sports that require the utmost mind control (and by that I mean the discipline of the mind, not the other definition ;]).

I guess I'm still old school in the belief that the control of one's mind is the hardest and most demanding sport. This isn't something that can be easily explained unless you have decades or even a life time of experience.
