I think X-men 3 would, although both movies is like the rage right now. Well, I know a lot of people that prefer X-men and it seems pretty big.
Umm...I guess your estimates were wrong. The Da Vinci code made $77 million domestically and $224 million worldwide. Keep in mind this is only the first weekend. I dont see X-Men 3 getting pass this. I guess some people do not understand how controversial this movie is or what its all about. Basically it says that Jesus Christ had a wife and a child and the church kept that secret hidden throughout the centuries. Think about how powerful religion is in the world and think about how a fictional movie that incorporates certain historical facts and attempts to prove that the son of God was a mortal man can affect the church and its faithful followers. The Passion of the Christ didnt do well in the box office because it was directed by Mel Gibson, it did well because it was a movie about religion, about Jesus Christ. The Da Vinci code sold millions of copies, so that was already one sign that it would become a hit. I watched the movie during the weekend and I agree that it was boring during certain parts but I still found it interesting and highly recommend it. Even with some poor reviews that wouldnt stop people from watching it because of the controversey behind it and most people are just plain curious. Im not trying to hate on X-Men 3 and I'll probably enjoy it more than The Da Vinci code, but the X-men cant be compared to Jesus Christ. X-men 3 will hit all age groups and it has plenty of action, but baby boomers out numbers the younger generation. Usually adult theme movies tend to do better than movies for kids, not that im saying X-men 3 is for kids. I hope X-Men 3 does well and I'll be watching it the first day it comes up. I watched the first two and have been a long time collector of the comic. I hope people dont think im a Christian because Im not. Im actually Buddhist and I just wanted to make a point that when you combine religion and controversey together with a movie you will sell a lot of tickets.
yeowzers, i even put in my 12.50 for it =P go x-men! and kids movies are sure bets for profit in film making and roughly 52 percent of davinci movie goers were under 30 =)
whoa 12.50... good lord. Sure "Jesus Christ" being mortal and all is controversial, but we're talkin' about Super Mutated Human-Beings, who are looked down upon in society saving the WORLD!! Now how cool is that -lol ahaha.
LOS ANGELES - "X-Men: The Last Stand" stormed to an estimated $107 million three-day opening, the largest ever for Memorial Day weekend and the fourth-biggest in box office history mwhahah mwhaha!
This is a very good sign cuz that means they might do a 4th one. This one was disappointing so I do hope to see another one. I dont wanna see a spin off like Elecktra. Stick with the same formula and it will make money.
