which sounds better: songs sung in canto or madarin

i like canto over mando
maybe cos of the style...like love songs and stuff and plus i understand canto

 

I think it depends on personal taste.

 

i think i like cantonese songs more because i can relate more to it.. but there are just as many good mandarin songs.

 

I listen to both, yet I definitely like Cantonese songs more... Mandarin songs have a good melody to them mostly, but I would like to hear some of those sung in Cantonese... might be better. (Maybe a little biased because I speak Cantonese) ><

 

even i dun understand chinese tat well i still prefer mandarin song den canto ..

 

They both sound as good, don't give a damn. It's just that I cringe when cantonese singers who have horrible mandarin sing in mandarin.

I find that first impression last. If you heard of a song in whatever language first it tends to stick in my mind, unless it was sang by a really lousy person and it murders the song >.<

 

i think manderin sounds more smooth and nicer but i like canto more....

 

I prefer Mandarin because I can understand ~60% of most songs. I can only understand ~10% of Cantonese songs.

 

Although i dun understand canto very much, i prefer canto songs to mandarin... Canto songs are more touching n the tone is more nice

 

I'm fluent in canto but don't understand mandarin but I have to say that mandarin songs do sound better..

 

I would have to say Cantonese since I don't understand Mandarin.

 

i prefer love songs in mandarin and pop in cantonese
