^ Well that's still pretty good, to be able to read newspapers and magazines I wish I could do that, working towards it though >.< I think the average Chinese (as in people living in China and where Chinese is language of instruction) can only manage to read newspapers and magazines, only a small percentage of people can actually manage beyond that (ie. write compositions and papers) because education is not availble to all.
read n write no problem! i could read n write chinese...............its not hard haha cus i attended chinese school n learn frm watching tvb episodes by reading the sub titles lol
i've been going to Chinese school since i was five, so i know how to read and write quite a lot..... but i tend to forget a LOT of words. =\ but listening to Chinese songs really helps. =D
i been going to chinese school for a lot of years but i still not really good at writing but reading is ok....at least i can read the menu hehe
i never went to chinese school.. so i only know the really easy characters like numbers and things like rice, noodles, beef.. (food related ^^) i don't find that karoake/subtitles help me at all.. ><
can't read, write or understand chinese beyond the basic words. never taken any chinese lessons though i which i had when i was little.
i can read simple ones lol~ but not enough to read a whole book magazine...etc =( but i can speak very fluently hahaa
I can read and write a lot...I´m self-taught...We had a really bad teacher so I taught myself by watching more movies/films and listen to a lot of music and look at the lyrics etc. It has been a bit hard but it went well...It´s better to do this than having lessons from that teacher At least I can read, speak and write hehe
my vocabulary is quite select. mainly pertains to song lyrics for ktv and food menus since that's when i use it most.
