wow thought every1 would be voting for jackie chan since his so funny. But jet li and donnie are both great actors too
don't like jackie, never did. didn't like donnie yen until ip man, but his acting is stiff, no facial expression.. so i guess, it's jet li for me.
donne yen is my favourite, just look at ip man, and the coming ip man 2. he may not be as funny as jackie chan but his action scenes are very good. jet li in his latest films has juts been hollywood-fied ...donnie yen still my favourite despite his cockiness and arrogance
Donnie is IT right now... with Jackie slowing down and trying to get into more serious projects (ignore the silly American Bullcrap, he knows it anyways, uses the money he earns to fund projects that he feels is good to him), Jet Li is getting old, and he's focusing on his ONE charity foundation now, I like Jet because he's humble and down right killer! But I chose Donnie because he's modern now, both Jackie and Jet are getting repetitive in that their recent fights don't have a certain identity to it, not like fights with Jet Li VS Donnie in OUTIC2, or Jackie Chan's fights from Drunken Master and such, they are more now like just two guys going at it. Most of Donnie Yen's recent fights are memorable, SPL Alley way fight is just nuts, then he tops it with Flashpoint fight with Colin Chou, and then Ip Man's 1 VS 10 fight is just fucking class... even though his fight against Cung Le in Bodyguards and Assassins wasn't necessary, nor was it his best in comparison to the aforementioned movies, but it was still goood none the less. Cannot wait for IP MAN 2 and see what he does in that.
oh wtf LOL. i saw bodyguard and assassin and dont remember seeing cung le -_-" but ya, Donnie Yen is a beast. i love his movies like SPL and Flashpoint. SO bad ass. Ip Man was very epic too. i cant wait for the second one!!!
jet li dont know english. LOL donnie looks like he never ages, but his acting is weird and like just pure fighting, he can't play other roles. Hhaha jackies is great 2 dont even mention tony ja
Jackie is an entertainer... so i say Jackie... Jet and Donnie are more serious.... Althought in real life Jet can be funny
At this moment, i would say Donnie Yen! Seems to bring more freshness to action movies more... Best fighter would probably be Jet Li. So let's say if three of them had a film out at the same time, which one would you watch first? I personally would watch Donnie Yen first because i know i would expect something different. But all three are legends!
I think Donnie is probably best fighter.... cos hes stronger than both Jackie and Jet... Plus hes studied heaps of different styles i guess and hes into MMA... Jet Li only does Wushu which is a performance martial art
that would depend. As an actor or as a martial artist. Mine would be Donnie = Jet Li > Jackie Donnie is good because he wants to be more modern...sort of like Bruce Lee in his days, making kung fu more into todays fights Jet Li on the other hand shows us the traditional kung fu through movies. Something we dont see nowadays Jackie Chan on the other hand, does not know REAL kung fu. He started as an opera. Learned his way through the entertainment industries. He started as a stunt man for Bruce Lee. And yes he does a lot of movies where others cant do, like his high stunts by sliding off an actual building. I give him props for that. But in terms of martial arts, i rate him very low
jacky chans such an embarrassment to us asians. Jet Li is more traditional. Donnie Yen exactly, modern way of fighting. Honestly only white boys and white washed asians think Jacky Chans the shit LOL those ppl make me laff
Jet li by far. Good actor and martial artist. Gotta agree with some of yall, he's very traditional, which is y he's the best.
An interesting topic indeed! I was fortunate enough to see all three of them in their hey days, and all three were terrific! Jackie Chan - for me is the better actor...Against some people who might have thought, he was not really trained as a martial artist. In fact the young Jackie Chan was brought up in Chinese Opera school, and commonly practiced acrobatic skills and singing techniques. Surprisingly, Sammo Hung constantly praised his singing talents during their childhood trainings. In terms of movie making Jackie, sets himself heads & shoulders above the other two. His knowledge on action choreography and extensive experience in martial arts movies however, makes him multi talented and an extremely skillful fighting 'actor.' Jet Li - He is the best real life fighter...formally trained in the Shaolin Temple, Jet Li's Kung Fu prudentials can certainly not be discounted. Started filming from an early age and hit the big time with his Wong Fei Hung movies (One upon a Time in China) and Fong Sai Yuk in the 1990's. Acting skills were always traditionally difficult to be credited for by action movie/ martial arts stars. But Jet Li's efforts was recognised when he won Best Actor in the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in The Warlords. Donnie Yen - The man of the moment...Can be described as the remaining man in this era having enough substance to prop up an aging Hong Kong actions movie industry. Donnie Yen provides elegance & finesse in his moves and skills that are most adnired by the younger generation - roles in Ip Man propelled him into prominance and heated up a fashion in young and old taking up Wing Chun in Hong Kong. Speaking in an interview, Donnie described his artistic visions of how he visualise his fighting scenes as '...a whole choreography of sequences that flows from one move to the next.' An artist at work!
