Why are Chinese People so Good at Maths?

Hey.... that's true.... why are chinese people so good at math? Haha, so good it's not even funny. lol Well, a little funny. ^.^ hehe

 

We are just better with numbers

 

lol coz the teachers are always force us to do the best lor

 

actually there is a theory that i heard about asians are good at math and i thought it was pretty cute. the reason y we are good at math is because of our counting system.
U learn the best when u are very very young, so when u were young u learn out to count numbers and for the numbers like 11 12 13, kids are applying basic math skills when they are counting so that is the theory that researchers say that we a good in math.

I don't know I guess its a stereotype by many people but its not always the case

 

I have heard in the past that Chinese people are good in math is because of the way chinese is written. It is said that because when writing chinese, every stroke of writing needs preciseness and accuracy so therefore when doing math they use the same kind of preciseness and accuracy.

i think coz our parents push us to be good at maths? lol. i think for asians maths is one of the most important subjects at school?

 

My dad used to have a stick on his hand when he was helping me do the math homework so you could probably guess what happened if i didn't get it right.

Also during the tests we weren't allowed to use the formula sheets, and tons and tons of homework. But the trend is changing now. Oh that and also we were so poor that we couldn't afford a TV, our entertainment was an old radio. There wasn't internet or cartoons when i was young heheh i'd still survived.

When i came to the US i cruise through Calc I and II without going to class. I guess it paid off.

 

I think it's the way your brought up. I know a lot of my CBC friends aren't that good in sciences or math...we're all slackers haha.

my family memebers are extremely good at maths though... dont know what happened to me =P

 

I dont know what the world is smoking. Sterotypes just make us dumber than we are when we fail that stereotype. I know I do. Math/science is my weak point. Give me a language and a history and I'll pwn it over and over
