hmm i wil ltry my best to teach my kids chinese but my chinese is pantsss lets hope the wifey's chinese is super gd =P
The chinese language will be taught to my children because a lot of cool things can be done if you know and understand chinese.
Well of course we would speak chinese to our kids but i wouldn't force my kids to take up mandrin classes to add up their level of stress haha.
I am not Chinese, but I will teach my son Chinese. Because there is a lot more entertainment in Chinese. TVB THUMBS UP!!!
True enough, but do you think it is THAT common? I personally have yet to know non-Chinese to be fluent enough in Chinese to teach anyone the language (I've know a few Whites who are perfectly fluent in Japanese and Thai, so it kind of begs the question whether I just know the wrong group of people) -tongue2
Er, I think you know the wrong group of people. As for learning the language without knowing the language yourself, there is such a place called language school, or tapes and cds, or even on the internet, there are language lessons available, though limited.
Yet again, the point being whether a person learning the language thru language school/language course/tape/internet can ever be fluent enough without immersing themselves in a Chinese-speaking community...
ideally i'd want to teach my kids chinese. although, i'm still only learning it myself at 21, lol. i'd like to move to taiwan though and live there for a while, have my kids go to school there for a while.
of course i will teach my children chinese. chinese Mandarain are the most spoken language in the planet
