woah talk about having too many versions though rele i suspect most will just be either the premium or professional just like with vista premium and ultimate and xp with their home and professional.
^that's pretty much a guarantee from reviews all over the Internet. but note that it is still beta before baggin it out
i don't see it running better than vista on my machine.. vista runs a lot smoother than windows 7.. -lol
gtfo...... LOL windows 7 beta is better than vista..... i've been using windows 7 and it going fine, not to many bugs... vista is crap...bottom line.
i upgraded my pc to Vista x64 last month & also installed Windows 7 beta as dual boot .Windows 7 definitely runs smoother & it also auto detect my Dell monitor model,XfX graphic card model.Instead,Vista detected as Generic PnP monitor...phew!
i don't know if it's just because i installed the 32 bit version, or i'm running it in a virtual environment, but windows 7 feels pretty shit to me atm. maybe it'll change in the future.
^^running in Virtual Environment instead of installing it.. might be the cause of it being so slow >.> just install it and then remove it -lol
installed Win7 ultimate 64-bit to AMD LE-1640 single core computer with 2gb ram, and works fine, not slow at all, however installing adobe cs4 master collection on it took almost 2-3 hours, where as my quad core took 1 hour 15 mins on 4gb ram there are neat features like: - burn ISO images to discs without 3rd party plugins - the "see desktop" without WINDOWS KEY + M, just point to the far right of the task bar and everything hides - the gaget bar is not preloaded after windows installation - it is better than vista in terms of not eating up any amount of ram installed, there are "actually" free ones - many drivers are not need for my compaq amd le-1640 computer as Win7 have drivers for them, it was hassel-free and Win7 will come in 6 flavours, two main editions will be Windows 7 Home Premium (consumers) and Windows 7 Professional (business) the first change in Win7 was to make sure that editions of Win7 are a superset of one another, that is to say as customers upgrade from one vresion to the next, they keep all features and functionality from the previous editions; the lowest-end version consumer will see will be Window 7 Starter edition, which will become available worldwide for pre-installed on new PCs and Netbooks. another update is when i wanted to pre-install the drivers for ATI X800 CrossFire video card and the Dlink DWL-G510 wireless card, the vista/xp installation file will not begin installation what-so-ever, however after plugging in the cards, Win7 installs them automatically ( for less than 5 seconds ) and they are installed ready for use. the video card however needs updating but after it downloads the drivers and installs, my system rating of 3.3 went up to 4.4 with just the video card added in.
Cant wait until windows 7 comes out. Im running vista right now and I love it, but hopefully windows 7 will boot faster than vista. I never really understood why there is so much hate for microsoft products...I personally love them.
mainly because they are the monopoly and that everyone have virus/spyware/trojans aimed for MSFT products, and for Vista, because it eats up memory a lot more than xp, besides, Vista is entirely more different than xp in terms of usage and new interface just like MSFT Office 2007, many users can't keep up with the new interface etc
