Dann, from the sound of it, your better off just buying/building a new pc. Chances are you will be very limited if your using a 5 year old motherboard along with the outdated powersupply.

I get a discount from microsoft so im not worry about the cost, plus I plan to finally going dual core however, I really like to skip dual and jump into quad core. The 850 dollar is another issue let along the price drop in Q2

  2. yea problem is, im a student, have a laptop, and no money for a new pc.

    Option 1:

BUT what i am doing now is this: ive already got a new power supply ( my second PC PS died so i swapped this one, and bought a new and better one for a GREAT price!)

im thinking of either purchasing a new motherboard OR a new CPU. the rest are still pretty good! ill get more RAM and a video card.

** this is only when parts are cheap, and i have money.

Option 2 (which i am currently using):

simply use my XP pro, and add a vista transformation pack!! =DDD simple as that. LOL thats just temporary until option one is done. (the new UI really makes you think you have Vista)
