^ Well, I see it as: You pay to go to school which is temporary pain, but in the long-run, it will give you a job that will pay 10x as much, thus more gain and happiness.
actually depends on what kinda job u do... if ur a lawyer or a doctor the job doesn't just end when u leave the office... u need to do heaps of case study... if ur a teacher u have to mark all ur students homework and test papers where as if ur a student u only do ur own assignments, homework and exams... if ur a student u get summer holidays, christmas holidays, semester break etc... but if ur working u only get ur weekends and a few days off during christmas and new year times... if u work in an office that has more than 5 peopel in it... u'll b surrounded with gossip and back stabbing... some people will do what ever it takes to climb over u... so yeah... sometimes work isn't as easy as knowing what ur doing... $$ is the only motivation that gets ppl to work everyday T-T
yepp..work does suck..i feel ur pain. to me, part-time jobs, though, aren't supposed to be fun..think of it as starting down in the food chain. it provides you with pains and aches..but also provides u with money and experience. i just recently started working at a restaurant..i hate it..ive only had 2 shifts and i hate it..but..money is money, right? haha, i'm just glad that i came across a thread like this..i needed to vent it out. i especially hate waking up in the mornings..it's summer..i need to sleep in -_-
Ya it does depend, but I work in an office and there isn't really anyone who wants to climb over me cuz I'm already at the bottom. I'm just a student. But sometimes it is entertaining to hear my coworkers talk s#it about the boss. Teachers? They got it easy. Marking exams is no where near as hard as cramming for them, which btw, I just got owned tonight. But everyone else said they bombed it too so they can't fail us all. Just the bottom few, which hopefully I am not a part of. Yes, lawyers have to take home their work and I don't, but thats why some of those guys are making $200/hr and I get 20.
Hahaha wait til I tell you how much trade workers are getting....2 years of post secondary at like $3500 a year (4 if you are an apprentice, but u get to work at the same time) and depending on trade, i heard some bring home like 10Gs a month! that is just disgusting! (well in a good way) but then it just makes ppl with university degrees sick. but then the 10G's a month is extreme. typically i heard they get min of 100G's a year. i am debating now on whether i should give up my professional route and just pick up my trade. actually was jokingly offered the trade position for 120G's a year. well the guy was half serious coz the previous dude just uped and quit. and trade workers don't take home work at all.
Ya this trend kinda upsets me these days. People who only need to go to trades school for two years and then start making $50000 and up, whereas people who go to school for 4+ years in a professional study will make less than that at start. Of course, being in the trades is physically exhausting... but I don't know, it requires not much brain power, which should definitely be worth more than body power.
Well my job can either be the Nicest job in the world ... or the crappiest job in the world. I work as a Ramp attendant at YVR ... its FT 9 hr shifts and i probably do 2hrs worth of work everyday. But it sucks for the weather we get in vancouver.
thats reality..work=pain, sacrafices..no one gives a sh**. you gained something beneficial for what you put in.
My work isn't painful, it's rather Boring ;O I work with a doctor, and there isn't much stuff to do most of the time, so I just sit around collecting dust.
i would much rather have job, even if it is a pain. when you are unemployed, it is also a pain and added stress you don't need
i find my work pretty interesting and 8 hours a day goes by, unless i have absolutely no work to do, which is pretty rare
Work = pain = stress. Stress = politics = boss/ co-workers conflicts = not wanting to go to work. But at the end of the day, we all need to make a living. We need to eat and be sheltered. So money is as important only to a comfortable level that you wanted to your life to be. With a global recession we have today, let's hope we still have that job we love and hate.
