dealing with stupid a$$ stereotype comments and for the most part the people dont even realize they are doing it
hahah so im guessing u would hate the hyphy stuff then .... if u know what that means...... too yellow bus for u.... nawmean?
1. Ramdom people always saying "ni hao" (and it really weird that most of them are black) 2. People always asumming that Im good at maths 3. People always asumming that im rich and that my family owns their own restaurant 4. Work mates asking me about Japanese poeple/stuff when they know Im CHINESE!
oo1. having your knuckles raped coz your not holding your chopstiks properly oo2. parents getting suspicous if you go out with a guy ><;; oo3. everyone expects you to be a nerd at something eg maths >__> but i'm still proud to b azn! ^^v
All these stereotypes.. they derive from some facet of truth. Now as for people being ignorant, that's another story. I guess the real downside to being Asian is that if you have traditional parents, and I mean raised in Asia, you're expected to excel in academics and be compared to every single other child of your parents' friends.
1) People think we are nerds... which not all us ARE.. 2) We are Cheap... anyway whats rong with discounts xDD" 3) No Social Life.. that 1 is just dumb.. i always go out
best way to prove your not a nerd and let people learn the hard way is to.... let everyone cheat off of you and have everyone fail with you!! lolx whats wrong with an average asian or a dumb asian?! lolz
omg.. people always ask me "What's my name in chinese?" >=[ ugh, the same thing in english??? makes me sooo mad! and you know those famous chinese bowl cuts and straight bangs? yeah... i had that... for like 5 years! and the worst thing about it was not only did i look like a typical chinese person who just immigrated from the motherland, but i was one OBESE BABY!!!!!!! and i had cheeks the size of watermelons.. omg i hated that... i'm scarred for life! ='[
worse of it they making joke of us like we arent soo differents just talks and ur know some of it arent even asians and they could talk cantonese.
Ummm what is wrong with being good at maths, and having parents who own restaurants, and playing online games all the time? It don mean u aint got no social life^^
Yes asking if you can say something in Chinese. Amazed that your English is great and always mistaking me for another nationality because of my name. Or people who studied Chinese and try to talk to you in Mandarin and have to tell them don't speak that. Boy are that red face after that.
being short i don't really mind the stereotypes because i grew up in almost all-white community...so white most of the kids didn't know what an asian was until the end of middle school....go figure and i defy almost, if not all the asian sterotypes (besides being short part) 4th generation go!
Haha, if it's a beginner who wants to impress you with his/her Mandarin you can pull an offended face and say: "dude/dudette, don't say that anymore, that's just rude!" (again, only try this when it's a beginner, don't risk of being laughed at yourself if the person actually knows more Mandarin than you do)
The tyipcal sterotype. The fact that people expect more from you because you are asian. Other then that there is nothing wrong with being asian.
