not necessarily, cheap parts could mean simple design and materials, and mass produced a lot of the reasons parts are expensive is because they dont make enough of them for them to be cheap or they are made of some ridiculously expensive and over engineered material which may be fine for a BMW but no need for a cheap car so true, a few celebs would buy it and it would be the next prius
this... rly can't be on the highway... especially somewhere like LA... u'd get urself killed... and that fuel economy... rly isn't that great... so getting it for the sake of fuel economy will make you look stupid...
its not that bad 56MPG for a petrol but only cause its an anaemic 624cc -lol i mean a 1000cc Toyota Aygo petrol does about 61MPG but that costs £6,950 which is about $14000 (well including our taxes and stuff but still a lot more than $2500)
i think i would just stick to a gd old second hand car, that way i can drive it on the motorway. this u cannot.
yeh i could never drive such a slow car but on the motorway i see people going as slow as the lorries on the inside lane even though they are in cars capable of 100mph+ so i guess it depends on your needs, it is meant to be a city car
ever see a chinese car in crash tests? 60km crash = you sandwich not reliable @ all unless you want to die quick maybe they've improved but i wouldn't trust it this early.
i heard there is no AC (so i guess no heater), no power steering in that car. So no, i will never drive a tata. Especially in summer or winter here in canada with temp variing between 40 to -40 C respectively.
lol and u expect a $2,500 Indian golf cart to be built better than a $9000 chinese shit car? :laugh2:
lol I do not know how well the Indians make their cars, but all I do know is its not Chinese and so making direct comparisons is kinda iffy but neither do I hold my breath for that 5 star Euro NCAP rating But I think my overall point is people are taking the piss out of this car for things it was never meant to be the best at and nor claim to be.
i'm taking a swing at it because they actually call it a "car"... i mean, the jeepnee in the philippines aren't "cars", they're "jeepnees" lol
it has no air bags but truthfull would u really want to gamble ur life on a car thats cutting costs in every corner? maybe after its first 5 years in india to see how it goes. reality is cheap, you usually get what you pay for and the tata's probably no exception to that , hence the reason why we are cautious about it. smart car > tata
Smart car base price is around $11,000. With all the options like power windows and seats and more features, it will cost you $17,000. They get 33mpg city and 40mph highway, which is pretty bad for car that small. It should get much better gas mileage. round like 4 times plus ... but u look more smarter then a Tata
exactly, the tata isnt meant to compete with the smart really if you had the money for a smart you would buy one in the first place and never be looking at the tata nano
yea, most pplz goes for safety first when buying a car. buying this cute car can really means risking ur life. but i guess rich folks wouldnt mind any of that.....
im not really putting up the smart car to compare features just that its probably alot more safer rather then a stripped imitation. question is if you were looking for an affordable car, would u buy a tata right now? seeing that the price is only $2500 would u doubt it?
