i had mine for 2 weeks and when my bro was playing it the red light came on he said but then when i came home i checked it went away lol.
well its been a day now since i sent my xbox away, still waiting to be ship to germany, tbh im getting very worried about this problem, i bin on loads of forum and some videos of people saying that their xbox broke again and got thr RROD again, some sed they on their sending their xbox back the 4th time :S if this happens to mine, what shall i do? sell my xbox and get a ps3? i only got my xbox since xmas only bin 6 months, bad thing is i didnt buy any insurance on it, cos i never expect a console to brake down, ps,ps2 and orginal xbox had never broken down, so why buy insurance, eventhough im getting a free repair, i doubt they fix the problem, i can see my xbox coming back by the end of the month and withing 2 weeks or something RROD again
^ theres no point getting insurance for xbox unless for accidental damage if you do get another RRoD then you could decide to just switch over to a ps3, but that totally depends on your budget, game taste, etc
yeh i agree, ps3 online feature is crap and got no friends on there to talk to, but like someone sed on this forum, the blue ray cannot be ignored, it will come in handy within the ps3, i rather pay a online fee like the xbox for the ps3 if it makes it better tbh
^yeh i wouldnt mind paying a bit i guess for a better online infrastructure the bluray is really nice, but only if you can afford all those bluray movies, i personally dont buy any cause i dont like paying £20+ for a movie i will only watch once or twice, plus no new movie which has been shot in true HD has been released that i really like
^lol yeah i don't buy blue ray disc also lol. the only blue ray discs i'm probably gonna buy though is the dark knight. that's the future though lol. but anyways guessed u didn't do research before you bought the xbox cause the rrod has been around for a while lols. and online play's not that important to me because i barely know anyone that has a ps3 anyways (they all have xbox 360s haha)
Its good that PS3 comes with blu ray, but I never buy movies and blu ray burners are really expensive...
i did loads of research about bout the 360 all my m8s got one, but unluckly none of them told me about the RROD until i got one , my m8 had the RROD lol, i though it wouldnt happen to me since i just bought mine n he got a year ago, but now cant believe it, i type RROD or ring of death on google, and oh mine soo many ppl had it, but if u let me choose again, i probably went for ps3 even though blue ray is good, i cant forget all the fun i had with my friends on xbox live plus still got 6 months left on my xbox live account XBOX LIVE vs BLUE RAY awww hard to choose
lol yea and also you need full 1080p to truely benefit from the experience, preferably a big ass tv also. it wouldn't benefit me since i run my ps3 through my 22 in computer monitor at 720p lol. lol guess "doing loads of research" through your friends wasn't a good idea after all haha. but lol the RROD is still an issue that's possible with any xbox atm, even the ones that just came out. it won't be completely solved for a while. and for ps3 i don't really know, couldn't you still start a voice chat with everyone like halo during some games. i know you only use the phone is gta which makes the game really silent lol. and the 2.4 firmware didn't really add to the online experience that much so it hasn't improved.
i using a 40' 1080p lol hehehe, i didnt buy of course dad did but currently not used now since my fucking xbox is bust yeh i agree with newaz, im very surprise about the error, i saw on the net that in 2005 MOST xbox had the RROD and also scratches game disc, but it seems they solved that problem out, but still shocking how 3 years later i get a brand new xbox for xmas and still get the RROD its seems like Microsoft is like "yeah we made a decent profit on the xbox 360" fuck the customers service and dw about the RROD, as time pass consumers will forget about it. i really wanna kill bill gates he's done shit on all on the xbox console , all he cares is his fucking windows xp n vista
Red ring of death, how i fear you. Theres opition the towel trick which makes it work for a period or just returning it to MS who might send you a new one that will last you another 5 months.

any1 got circular scratch on their disc b/c of 360?? i haven't played rockaband in a long time and i do not wanan pay $60 for the disc only and xbox wont take it bak..this suxx
