Yao Ming is a celebrity... I wonder how will china perform this year since 3 of the players are being trained in NBA dy.... LOL
he's my favorite center for sure, but i'm not gonna join in on the discussion of who's the best center. it's a matter of personal preference. i like yao also because of his sportsmanship, humility, scoring ability, personal background, and so on.
yao ming has improved but i still doubt that he is the best center in league...if in china league then mayb best but for NBA...he need to work a lot harder.. and at least be a lot firmer.....=)
and he is a little fragile .... and this means he got height but no strength...need to work out more.....
Yao ming is the best offensive center, tyson chandler is the best defensive center, tyson chandler plays at 13 feet on defends and defends the pick and roll very well, Dwight Howard is ok, but he has a low basketball IQ, still don't have a go to move in the blocks and don' t know to to defend the pick and rolls
it does not surprise that yao ming is the best center, because he is the tallest player in nba? i mean the tallest!!! 7 feet something 6 something like that
Manute Bol, George Muresan, and Shawn Bradley were tall NBA players, you don't see them dominate at the center position...
Actually, Duncan prefers the PF position and I think he should play the PF position also due to him possessing the mid-jumper. He was forced into center because there aren't many true centers in the NBA. Amare is a PF because the guy can't play defense On the offensive end, he plays like a C because he has no move and need feeds from Nash to be effective. The Suns traded Marion for Shaq because Amare is getting owned left and right at C and the team needed to push him back to PF. Yao's definitely not well rounded. But let's be fair, do you see any 7ft 6 guy's footwork better than him? Or has the athleticism Yao has? Sure, he's slow, he tires easily, and he might get out-jumped by guys 2 ft shorter than him, but his offense (mainly, his finesse play) is the best in the league currently at the center position. It's a shame he can't stay healthy for 3 straight seasons... and counting.
Yao is the best center in the nba, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Dwight Howard isn't there yet. He lacks an offensive game. He can relies mostly on his athleticism.
i have seen D howard play actually he is a real beast... but i rather put my money on amare if you say the best center overall. but yet they all are still young o btw don't forget BEASLEY of the bulls he will be coming as a real center
even though i like Yao Ming and I am also asian as well ,but i don't think he's top 1 but he is in the top 5. In my opinion I think Howard and Bosh are better players.
