I am Chinese, love him and all that, but no, he won't be the best Center in the league...mainly because he is under-rated for being Chinese (and I'm pretty sure lots of you feel it) and because he just doesn't put up the stats to have such a prestigious position within the league. Of course he's amazing! What do you expect a Chinese guy to say hehe ^^
Yao is one of the best center in the league. He dominates other big men that plays his position but he has his moments being so tall (like getting dunked on and blocked by guys smaller than him). no doubt, he has the best game for a center now.
last time i checked...duncan is a powerfoward....dwight howard is the best center in the league and will be for a long time
based on waht?!? the position labeled in the program booklets? ffs Duncan is a center... watch his play style... he guards like a center, blocks like a center, rebounds like a center, low posts like a center, does the proper high post dump offs like a center... just because he has a perimeter shot he's not a center? ffs... wtf is bargnani then? a 7ft small forward? rlY!?
no based on the position he plays most of the time...i know wat you are getting out...pf and c are pretty interchangeable....but when you have to run schemes and plays....pf's have a role different than c...and for the most part, duncan adheres to that pf spot on the floor/playbook duncan does play center sometimes...but for the most part, he's the greatest pf in the history of the nba
yao would be good if he can stay on the court instead of being injured... i would have to say the best center goes to dwight howard.
I think Yao is the best center. He can defend good (not the best). Tall to get rebound (needs to be better at boxing out). Can do jump shots, where most center can't. Finally, he can slam!! Yao owns and that's why he's always voted in the All Star Game

Yao can't take over games...Great players can and Yao can't seem to do that. Thats y he's never made it past the first round. He's good but not great. BUT, Yao is the best 7'6' player ever. Tho the other players were whack - Manute Bol, Gheorge Mureshan, and Shawn Bradley.
At the moment yes, Yao is the best. But like everyone is saying. Dwight is coming up. maybe even Bynum but they are still learning and progressing, just like yao
Yao Ming is second best center behind Dwight Howard. Yao still need to stay heathly in order to get better and one day lead his team to NBA championship.
