    He's done it once.

He's not the best but he's getting there. I'm a big Yao fan and it's just amazing to see this guy get better every single season.

    hard to compare those 2...

shaq was 80% power and 20% skills,
most of his points were nice post up plays combined short range shots.
yao on the other hand, has a very good midrange shot and hook-shot too.

but Yao's still not that dominating like shaq in his lakers-time,
averaging 28points pg, 12reb pg and a fieldgoal average of 0.57.
that's still better than Yao's averages this season...

luckily yao's only 26 years old, so still many years to prove himself!
he's free trows are much better than shaq's though :D

power? more like sheer mass. all 325 pounds of him, laffo.

as for lack of centres, I'd have to say big ben and zo in terms of sheer defence, and dwight howard for sheer rebounding. yao needs to play a bit more aggressively, but he's a lot better than he was in his rookie season (speedy claxton anyone?)

yes, but back in yao's rookie season, claxton knocked him off balance while doing a crossover.

  7. i think yao just has the height presence...he should be blocking a lot more shots...i think it more like amare and d. howard who are part of the next good centers/pfs

yao needs to start to listen to rap/r&b and get some more rhythm...then move on to hard rock/death mental and get his power on, shake off the gental giant image and dominate...then yes, the best and the most versatile center in the league.

Yao dominates, he's definitely not gentle, its just he doesn't have to be too rough to score lol.. go Yao!!

I think the reason his blocks are low is because he got short arms for his height.

Yao may be the best center this year but he doesn't carry his team like Shaq did.

yao ming will be the best center in the league once he gets a little more assertive and tougher. he's getting there though...

Yao ming the best scoring centre, but he doesnt get too many rebounds and blocks.
