How long have you been using ZoneAlarm? I guess you don't know what you are talking. I used ZoneAlarm (free version) for a year (about 5 years ago) then changed to the professional version for 2 years, since then I have upgraded to the ZoneAlarm Security Suite. It is one of the best firewall, anti-spyware, anti-virus software around (check reviews on this software). Unless you are still using dial-up, then maybe you don't need it (firewall) but if you were using Broadband (always on) you must have a firewall to protect you PC.

  3. I used it for awhile, I had the pro... and it was screwy when I had it.

one doesnt require the pro version. Sometimes the best things are free and work effectively......and that is exactly what the basic free version does.

I agree with you 100% if you only want a basic firewall. The pro version give you additional functions not included in the free version. As for the security suite it has firwall, anti-spyware and anti-virus. I think it is better to have one program that has all these functions than have 3 different programs doing 3 different functions.
